It is challenging enough for developers to make their code work. But software has to be more than functional. It has to be secure, accessible, and actually reflect what users want. If you need to get developers to provide something beyond the basics, try these motivational techniques. This blurb written by AI (based on previous blurbs)

I read about a third of a brilliant book, recently, on the topic of how using "motivation" techniques is a complete waste of time.
Well, I say it was brilliant, because the core rationalisation was brilliant -- but the implementation was cr@p (it certainly didn't deserve a book-length text), so I couldn't find enough motivation to read the whole thing.

Well, I'm no management expert, but I always find that when dealing with people, "pleases" and "thank yous" tend to be far more effective than bull***t.

Making the code work is a minor barrier to success. The hardest part of it is to make the application uable by the target audience, with as little training as is necessary.
Make it work.
Make it secure.
Make it usable for the target audience.

How ironic. The author states:
Quote: Yet, developers are already under stress, with plenty of barriers that make it difficult to put code into production.
and yet nowhere is there a recommendation to reduce stress and barriers (like inane paperwork, firecall procedures, and archaic SDLC apps) to get code into production.

Well, you currently have a choice of two types of governmental behaviour, which are in diametric opposition:
0. One that acts a bit like a nanny to the general populace, and tries to make sure that corporations don't do whatever the F*** they like to people with whatever they can get their hands on.
1. One that's like the one with a certain person living in a certain-coloured house.
I know which I prefer.

I'm a bit confused here. Did MS re-enable cached writes at some point? I though they disabled them by default on USB devices way back when either vista or W7 launched...
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?
