There’s one site that is connected to Facebook, YouTube, Yahoo!, Twitter, and many others. And you probably never think about it. Careful - it's hot
or not. You decide.

I site I heard about once and dismissed as stupid. No wonder it's the most connected site to social media.

Here are the challenges of basically understanding this vulnerability (or any other) exists:
1) First I check to see if it was fixed - in this case yes, they said it was in a specific version of the kernel & I have a later kernel version so I guess I'm good.
2) Next, I think, "ok, let's say the vulnerability was fixed but how do I know that I didn't already have some kind of exposure?? Like they've already put a backdoor on my computer?"
I'm not sure.

The PowerShell dev team unveiled its 2022 plans, including a move to the upcoming .NET 7, a project that has been delayed by some issues. Those two companies really need to get together to discuss compatibility

Somehow, I'm guessing this will make PowerShell even harder to master.

A mysterious, one-letter npm package named "-" sitting on the registry since 2020 has received over 700,000 downloads. Because we're doomed
At least it seems to be a decent developer that created it, but allowing that name... :S

Quote: "Originally, I published the package to verify that '-' is a valid package name according to naming rules—weirdly, it is; you could, for example, publish a package under the name '--' as well," he continued.
Parzhitsky agrees with BleepingComputer's hypothesis that the unusually high number of downloads can most likely be attributed to developers making typos.
The developer further clarified that, while "-" does nothing as of now, he intends on modifying the package to throw error messages when someone accidentally installs such packages.
Wonderful. Having originally done this as a test to see if validation had some weaknesses, the ing now intends to break the build of everyone who repeated the typo he was testing against.

Which is perfect.
Only idiots "program" downloading crap from all over the Internet without checking. They deserve what's coming, they deserved log4j and deserved the removal of packages at the unquestionable judgment of the creator/maintainer.
Any "developer" who doesn't keep their own copy of dependecies and updates them manually when needed is a source of technical debt - and job security for the ones who get paid to fix their incompetence.

If you are, go elsewhere in search of an article that might help you decide which type of database is correct for your use case. This one won't help.

While PolyCoder doesn’t match the performance of top code generators in every task, the researchers claim that PolyCoder is able to write in C with greater accuracy than all known models, including Codex. Can it code itself?
