A developer has released an unofficial patch to undo Microsoft's block on updates for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 on newer silicon. And I'm sure it will never get bypassed

That actually took longer than I expected.

Google plans to introduce an ad-blocking setting in both the mobile and desktop versions of its Chrome browser, according to The Wall Street Journal. And I'm sure it will stop 100% of advertisements (that don't pay Google)

In the first known study of older adults learning computer programming, Guo outlines his reasons: People are living and working longer. Coding isn't just a young man's game

That's a good thing.
The older and more worldly are far less likely to fall for the latest crazes with such abandon (of common sense).

LinuxKit includes the tooling to allow building custom Linux subsystems that only include exactly the components the runtime platform requires. "Dogs and cats living together! Mass hysteria!"

The only problem being that the average Linux app requires about 7,389 packages and sub-packages, many of which are the same packages, but different versions.
You might as well just wipe the drive and install Linux.

Good advice!
Now is it bad enough that you let somebody else kick your butts without you trying to do it to each other? Now if we're all talking about the same man, and I think we are... it appears he's got a rather growing collection of our bikes.

That's what VirtualBox is for.
(I use Win10 at home with Fedora in a VirtualBox. I use CentOS at work with a Windows remote desktop. I vastly prefer the former setup.)

Facebook today unveiled a project from its secretive Building 8 research group that’s working to create a brain-computer interface that lets you type with your thoughts. I'd bet there will be a lot of non-kid sister-safe typing with that system

Facebook ads. Well sure, but not in our dreams. Only on TV and radio, and in magazines, and movies, and at ball games... and on buses and milk cartons and t-shirts, and bananas and written on the sky. But not in dreams, no siree.

Reminded me of the Futurama episode where Fry dreamed about wearing new underwear just to come to find out that the advertisers had the technology to beam commercials directly to the brain.

Facebook has completely rewritten React, its popular JavaScript library for building user interfaces. Because rewriting is always best practices, right?
At least it's supposedly backward compatible, so they didn't "learn" from the Angular devs
