Microsoft's Azure Communication Services (ACS) will give customers and partners access to the same voice, video, chat and texting services that Microsoft uses to power Teams. Now you can add that video chat function the boss has always wanted in the parts catalogue

Porting Swift to Windows is not about simply porting the compiler, but rather ensuring that the full ecosystem is available on the platform. If it's good enough for iOS, it must be good enough for Windows
Not sure what I was trying to say there, but I think I did say it. Maybe.

Edge under Chromium, Linux on Windows and now Swift...
And then we wonder why the windows updates are so crappy... with such a damned mix of so different things...
My father always told me (free translation):
The more you enclose, the less you can press.
And I think Microsoft is trying to enclose waaaayyy too much

You want top-quality software, sure. But when is it time to increase the size of the testing team, so that you can deliver said top-quality software? Asking for a friend (company) in Redmond

It will be impressive when they don't need to monitor. But by then maybe we will all be in the Matrix.

As Google moved earlier this year to ban third-party cookies on its Chrome browsers and Apple plans to restrict tracking in its next iOS build, Abhishek Sen, cofounder of a British analytics startup NumberEight, says companies are looking beyond cookies as they explore new avenues to tap into consumer behavior. You should try the book.
Seriously though, it's a great book. And outside of tech docs I'm not much of a reader.

Or rather, books. (The guide is considered the longest trilogy in history, filling four volumes.)
That said, I fully agree with you. In the written story, you will find loads of funny details, descriptions and thoughts that simply can't be transformed into a screen story. Escpecially not when the story fills four volumes and the movie fills 110 minutes.
In a few, exceptional cases, movies based on novels do add something extra, but at least 98% looses a whole lot going from book to screen. Maybe most actions can be transferred, and I guess that is what the movie audience is looking for. What you loose is the rest, that which goes beyond visible, physical actions. (If a movie maker tries to convey something beyond action, the movie is quickly labeled as 'artsy', or even 'European', and rejected by the general audience )
Edit: I forgot about the fifth volume of the trilogy.
