I just stumbled over that quote on Friday...
"Man is the best computer we can put aboard a spacecraft... and the only one that can be mass produced with unskilled labor." ~Werner von Braun

Unfortunately, Werner von Braun knows unskilled labor.
"the debugger doesn't tell me anything because this code compiles just fine" - random QA comment
"Facebook is where you tell lies to your friends. Twitter is where you tell the truth to strangers." - chriselst
"I don't drink any more... then again, I don't drink any less." - Mike Mullikins uncle

Which is funny, because four engineers spend 5 years to solve a problem and in 1 second you see that you want version 2. That's what I thought as defense for the girl... she makes really cool forms, in different highs and other stuff. That is going to take a while to get done by a robot.

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?

The New York Times noted that July 31st, 2021 marks the 50th anniversary of the Lunar Roving Vehicle's first outing — and the first time people drove on the Moon. The first attempt with the horse and buggy didn't go too well

And the astronauts still haven't paid their parking fines!
They parked in an historical monument, did they not?

Microsoft has released a new portal that will allow you to get behind the scenes with Windows 11 designers. Find out how the icons get baked
Or at least the designers. There has to be a reason.

anyone know of articles which explain why mouse operated screens corner buttons important?
It's related to UI metrics, and 2006 uni lecture pointed out how XP (unless was vista) had issue that start button was not flush to corner, meaning moving mouse to corer edge and clicking did nothing.
Patch fix you can see that on click the mouse moves 1 pixel in to trigger start button.
All this to say that A: the windows 11 menu in middle is great for the right handed population using touch control, but for mouse this is horrendous UI basic design.

We’ve simplified the process down to just one command, simply open a command prompt window with admin privileges and run wsl.exe --install. Because Linux is a virus, or something like that
Looks like the Windows Update to enable this isn't broadly available (yet) - at least this isn't working for me yet.

With the switch to remote work, employees have been left to foot the internet bill and many workers believe some changes are in order. And while you're at it - a cafeteria would be nice

On the 10th anniversary of its first survey, the multi-vendor State of Devops report concludes that DevOps is still "rarely done well at scale," and that "almost everyone is using the cloud, but most people are using it poorly." So avoid it in HO or Gauge 1 and go full size?

A quirky type of subatomic particle known as the charm meson has the seemingly magical ability to switch states between matter and antimatter (and back again) It turned into a cat?
...and an anti-cat?
In case that link is requesting subscription (it didn't when I posted it), try this one: Particle seen switching between matter and antimatter at CERN[^]

Time crystals with their perpetual zero-energy "processes" and particles that can change between states that should destroy each other... at what point do we admit that the universe has really bad bounds-checking and we're just hacking it at this point? Hopefully it has better exception handling
