Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Mason McLead, chief technology officer of Software.com, knows what it’s like to have a development team revolt against monitoring software. Because there's no 'i' in 'Code Faster!"

But there are "i" in: "fix it"

I’ll talk about things that didn’t make sense to me when I started, and now they’re the guiding stars in my sky. "Don't you know I'm still standing better than I ever did?"
Just getting started (compared with some on this site)

This morning, many people worldwide experienced Microsoft Defender warning them of a recurring virus threat. It's a false positive, and your computer is OK. Because, as we know Microsoft software is never attacked by malware

Reading the article, it detected Chromium based applications as malware. This would be nearly 100% correct - those who hate Edge will agree. Those who hate Chrome will agree. Very few of us like both.
As an aside, the current ClamWin AV engines detect OneDrive setup and update programs as a virus.

It is a well-established fact in software delivery that the earlier in the life cycle you can find and fix an issue, the less costly it is to remediate. Assuming the estimate of cost isn't based on bad data

Similar to what someone else said...
Do you think a good dev is expensive? Wait until you hire a bad one.

The Internal Revenue Service has accidentally leaked confidential information for approximately 120,000 taxpayers who filed a form 990-T as part of their tax returns. Good news for people that don't pay their taxes

Questions to ask a prospective employer during a job interview Somehow, "Is the snack machine free?" didn't make the cut
Posted mostly for the expected (hopefully amusing) reactions, especially from those not working at web-centric places.

An excellent article that focuses on determining whether an employer has processes that destroy productivity and morale.

Agreed. I saved it as a PDF to my Business and Work related folder for my next job interview cycle.

They're going to be shell-shocked when you hit them with these questions.
And this post[^] will help you decide when it's time to leave your current job!

USB-C cables cables of 40 Gbps will be able to reach speeds up to 80 Gbps with the new USB 4 Version 2.0 standard. Dongles be gone!
USB4 version 2.0? Are they taking naming lessons from Microsoft?

Wouldn't it be the Express Edition, then?
Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.

The collector aimed to gather 50 years’ worth of consoles: all models, all colors, and every possible limited edition Is he looking to try to buy a new PS5?

That he tries... Ok.
If he actually sells some of them...

When developing software or even building a SaaS business over-planning and over-engineering can stifle your progress. Not a prolbem here

Sharing news articles with friends and followers on social media can prompt people to think they know more about the articles’ topics than they actually do I am confident this is a news item
And as everyone that knows me, knows I'm the most confident person in every room (OK, that's a joke for like 3 people that might see this)

They only know it through the journalist's eyes, which have to be faded in light of Michael Crichton's observation:
Quote: “Briefly stated, the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect is as follows. You open the newspaper to an article on some subject you know well. In Murray's case, physics. In mine, show business. You read the article and see the journalist has absolutely no understanding of either the facts or the issues. Often, the article is so wrong it actually presents the story backward—reversing cause and effect. I call these the "wet streets cause rain" stories. Paper's full of them.
In any case, you read with exasperation or amusement the multiple errors in a story, and then turn the page to national or international affairs, and read as if the rest of the newspaper was somehow more accurate about Palestine than the baloney you just read. You turn the page, and forget what you know.” Also true of many articles about economics.
