k i think u didnt get it...
k my problem is not about the database connectivity ...
iam juz starting sql server ...
i wanna practice queries ...
So i installed Sql server studio 2005 management express edition ...
i installed in my PC ...
Its successfully installed ..
but wen am going to use sql server it is asking about username and password for sql server connection enabling ...
but i dont kw how to login ..
the window options r like this ...
Server Type : Database Engine
Sql Server Compact edition
Server Name : My system name
or browse
Authe mode : Windows
Sql Server
wen i click on Sql server
Login :
Pwd
Connect cancel ----- --------
plz help me

go to enterprise manager inthat u can create ur own user name and password
by that user name and pwd will help u to access query analyzer
|

try to connect in Windows Authentication and after you conenct create one username and password then next time connect with SQL Server Authencation mode, that (SQL Server Authencation mode) require username and password.
Or check rights for your created username.

Which version of SQL Server did you install?
(check if service is stoped)

hope you might have installed SQL Server with Windows Authentication.
if so, reinstall in mixed mode.

hello
i was connect to oracle database using oracleadapter and generate for this adapter a dataset ,the dataset contain data from database when i display it on datagride but it dose not contain anything on the crystal report ????!!!!!
i write these linwe on the load form event
oraqcleadapter1.fill( dataset1 )
and i use .NET2005
how i can solve this problem ????? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

then

example:
sno is int then changing int to float

I trying to make my demo for
"Take Data Offline Using Microsoft Synchronization Services for ADO.NET"
I am using SQL Server 2005 on a server side and SQl Express on Client side, I have created my "Orcast" Database on both side ( Server as well as Client). but when I click on "Synchronize" but it will not work. In Demo they are used one "pub.sdf" file on client side , & I have created Database on client side ,they have given Path of that file , I have to give database connection string Like (its for client)
"Data Source=USIL-1;Initial Catalog=Orcast;Integrated Security=True";
it's urgent

i have some errors while implementing stored procedure for sql server 2005 in my web form which i have design using vb dot net 2005. my code is like this:
i have made stored procedure like this:
ALTER PROCEDURE UpdateMemberInfo
@FName varchar(50),
@LName varchar(50),
@Password varchar(50),
@MemberName varchar(50)

Now i have to call this stored procedure in the click event of the button. So, i put the code like this in the button:

You haven't set the SqlDbType or the size for any of your parameters. You must set them.
Plus, you haven't actually assigned any values to the parameters, and you haven't actually put any condition on your update statement so all rows will be affected.
