Let me show you my trial:
First I put (PayItem,Description and unit)on a single table,
Second (BridgeType,Span, quantity)on another table payitem as a foreign key.
Now bridge type and span are making the redundancy problem, what should i do now?

Doesn't look like it's in 1NF; the primary key isn't an atomic fact, and there are repeating groups.

This is the original table, not the normalized one.

Ah, the old "I've solved it, but I'm not going to show you; I want to see your solution first so I can check" line.
Which translates as, "I haven't solved it; I want you to solve it for me".

Normalization consists of a set of rules that one can apply, one after the other. As is, the table is in 0NF. A "normalized" model is usually in BCNF (3NF+). That means that one verifies the rules for each level.
If you follow the rules (!) we'd get exactly the same model.

Pat Item, Bridge Typeand Unit should be split out as dimension tables.

Hello
I'm going to create my new WPF application. I'm also new with cloud computing. I would like to know if there are cloud services(maybe free, cheap) letting me to use a shared database on the cloud that can be used by different client trough my wpf application.
I'm weak in english language..forgive mistakes

It's hard to get free for a long time..may be i am wrong also.u can check

Is this possible?

In your VB code you should already have a connection to the database! That connection will work on the other computer as long as it is networked to the server.

I understand but I think you did not answer my question that I had asked.

Alright lets try a little hand holding!
Does you VB app extract data from sql server - yes
Is there a connection to the database - yes
Is the "other PC" on the same network as the server - you need to answer this question
If the answer is yes then all you need to do is deploy your application to the "other PC"
I STRONGLY suggest you do a LOT of reading on developing and deploying applications, your question indicates you have too little knowledge to complete this task.

Storing some data (which includes Text,URL,image..) into a single Table. And could be assigned into separate fields.
is it possible?if so,how?

Judging from your question I would suggest you get a beginners book on database and start reading as it indicates you have no idea what a database does.
A column and a field are the same thing. A table on the other hand has a collection of columns which may be of different data types so you could store a row/record of data made up of the different data types.
Get book and start studying!

Please omit the second part of the Question.
I meant that for Front end fields.

You can store everything in a single column of a single table; but then you'd be better of with storing that blob in a file, and not in a database.
Every "field" should hold 1 piece of information, not more - regardless of how it is shown.

Your question isn't clear.
If you want to store a single 'item' without respect to the type of the item and you need to have no limit on the size then you would use a single column which has a blob (binary not character data.)
If you want to keep a hint as to what type of data is in that column then you could create another string\text column which stores the name of the type like 'url', 'txt', 'img', etc.

If the above is a correct re-statement of your question then the above is also the answer.

I want to show reports by fetching data from OLAP. How to do that in .Net? Thanks
|
|
|
|

choose a reporting tool[^],learn how to connect to the database, learn how to develop reports in the chosen tool and build your reports. Deploy your reports in your chosen tool.
.Net does not have a specific reporting tool.

Is there a better way (xml) that would prove to be better? Space is not an issue; however, length of time to display is, as always, a major factor.
I would save as a file and link to the file, but I fear that in the manner suggested they will not map the network drive to a consistent letter at all workstations.
What have you done or would you do?

PrissySC wrote: I would save as a file and link to the file, but I fear that in the manner suggested they will not map the network drive to a consistent letter at all workstations. As a user, I can see everything in that path? Could I delete everything? I can try of course, since you probably have a backup
PrissySC wrote: What have you done or would you do? I'd go for the database-solution, but I'd be putting the files in their own database on the server. That way it could have it's own backup-policy.
If the users are only "reading" files then a webserver might be preferable; IIS has nice caching options, and getting the files would be easy.
