It's actually good you posted that bit. The first time I clicked a link to an abusive article comment that was no longer there I was confused thinking they were trying to report the article.

Sometimes there are articles/blogs in the queue where the description for the moderator says "This is an old version of a previously published article".
What's that about?

It means the author has updated the article before the old one has been approved, so there's a different version available to approve.
|
|
|
|
|
But should that really be there given that a new version of it has already been approved and available to the public? 
Note: I can't see the moderation queue as of yet.

The old version may be suitable for publication where the new version might not. It's better, then, to approve the one that is fit for purpose, rather than rejecting both.
