It looks okay. It's a blog post about fixing an issue. It's not as though he's trying to get us to buy the product.

Any opinions on this guys[^] voting record?

Looks like he lives under a bridge. Billy Goat Gruff would outsmart him.

Not true - he's posted one message[^] that wasn't a criticism.
I don't see any obvious spam or abusive messages in there. Perhaps he's just an extremely negative person?

I was thinking more along the lines of "10 years and nothing good to contribute" sniffs along the lines of abuse.

His comments are all criticisms, yes. But...I saw no actual abuse there, just a grumpy so-and-so who didn't find exactly what he wanted. It's possible that he upvoted articles he did like without leaving a message - without that information, I don't feel I could "abuse" vote him based on the comments I did look at.

I didn't take any action against him aside from this post. It was just a thought about possible abuse, maybe even a sock puppet account.

Entirely possible - or he's just a grumpy curmudgeon. He certainly doesn't seem to be targeting one person or group, and it also doesn't seem to be a "binge downvoter" either.

I took the nuclear option on the article. It died not with a bang, but a whimper.

I keep forgetting I have that option...

It is under the free tools section. Is that not OK? Shareware is "is proprietary software that is provided to users on a limited basis and only for a certain limited trial basis." Since it has a free version that is not time limited is it still considered Shareware?
There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

Edit: Never mind - I didn't notice the "Pro" version was different from the "Free" version.
It still seems a bit odd that the user's only interaction with the site in eight years is to post a link to a freemium tool that's not directly related to software development.
