In this case it not only stupid, but blatant as well - a "best of year" competition winner is probably a poor target for plagiarism...

The only instant messaging I do involves my middle finger.

English doesn't borrow from other languages.
English follows other languages down dark alleys, knocks them over and goes through their pockets for loose grammar.

That's a good point. I did notice the article has been copied in several blogs, so to begin with I figured he might not have realized it was first published here. A few minutes ago I noticed the last line in the copy: Contain copied from One of Good article http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/73728/ASP-NET-Application-and-Page-Life-Cycle. I cannot find that anywhere else, so now I suspect he knew what he was doing all along.

The exactly copied ones are a good, catch, but at least half of them seems like the question was easy, causing similar answers. I wouldn't nuke his account, but let's see what others say.

It's not spam - but it is bordering on abuse.
I think he is using a sock puppet to upvote himself - whoever gives him the five is very low level. I have hit a few of the obvious duplicates and it drops from 5 from one vote to just-over-1 from 2...
