Can anybody tell me what is the significance of interfaces of .Net framework, i mean , how i as a developer can make utilize.(with one small example)

Interfaces are a contract that an implementing class must fulfil. If an interface defines a method called "DoSomething()" then every class which implements this interface must define this method.
They are often used as a "Lowest common denominator" when dealing with objects where you dont know the exect type of class being used.
For example, a Data Abstraction Layer which works with Sql and Oracle databases may have a method called "CreateConnection" which returns an instance of a class which implements System.Data.IDbConnection - It does not matter to you, the user, whether it is a Sql or Oracle (or Access or MySQL) connection - just that it is a Database connection.
IDbConnection defines methods such as
-Open
-Close
-CreateCommand
-BeginTransaction

I tried to use \\server\directory but i got an error saying that UNC path can not be like that. What class can I use to convert the \\server\directory into a path that is acceptable by DirectoryInfo?

?

Well insted of putting '@' infront I had "\\\\server\\directory".

Try looking at the System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal class. This class has all kinds of static methods for handling COM interfaces and so on.

Hey, I'm trying to build my own ICryptoTransform-able class, so I could use it in CryptoStream, because as I know of, 2 chars in hebrew, transformed (in almost any transformable there is in System.Security.Cryptography) to 24 chars, so I would like to create my own so it wouldn't be so much... I already built the algoritm, and I inherited from ICryptoTransform as they wanted to, and I'm using MSDN to know what methods and properties I need to do, but there are two properties I don't know what to do with them, and what I should return from them... the properties are InputBlockSize AND OuputBlockSize, if anyone can tell me what to do in them, and even give me an exemple I would appriciate it...
oh and another thinh, can some-one tell me in the TransformBlock and TransformFinalBlock, what does every parameter stand for, and what do I need to return from it?

I want to trap the page break event at runtime.I can't able to trap the page break at runtime in a running word document.
Requirement :
- When columns in a table span pages, need to repeat the column heading row at start of each page .Column means to say the total no of rows in a page is greater than the rows that can be printed in a single page, then in that case we have to repeat the column heading into the next page as well.
If anyone have any idea to implement this condition then please give your suggestions

hi
i have a project in CSharp with 2 forms(see demo project included)
one named frmFirstForm with a button named btnShowSecondForm
and two variables named myFirstVariable and mySecondVariable.The
other form named frmSecondForm has a button named btnShowFirstForm
I don't know how to hide frmFirstForm and show frmSecondForm when i press
btnShowSecondForm button.Like that when i press btnShowFirstForm form frmSeconForm
the second form hided and the frmFirstForm showed(not the new instant of frmFirstForm class).
And the last question:how can i use 2 variables of frmFirstForm from FrmSecondForm.

there is one BEST way which I recomend, without using static variables and distroying your code, simply, go to frmSecondForm.cs, and you will see a Constructor, simply add parameters in it, i'll give you the example and then explain:
public frmSecondForm(object myFirstVariable, string mySecondVariable, Form prevForm)
all you need to do, is to add before that private variables, and then simply placing them from the constructor to the variables, and there you go.
Why Form prevForm?
that's how you can control the last form either, when you want (as you want - your click event on btnShowFirstForm), you just do:
prevForm.Show();<br />
this.Close();
ofcourse in the first form, you can't do the close method, cuz it will close your whole program, because it's the main [first] form opened.

The newest version is 2.0 so I would advise you to move to that.

hi i created one componand in .net framework 1.0 and also it has in live,but now i need to reference that componand to my application(part of above application)in .net framework 1.1 ,i try to get reference but it give version error message,so how can i solve this problem.
