How can I see the difference between two instances in debug?
In MFC you got the instance address in the debug windows.
ex. strText {0x00035458 "123456789012345"} ATL:CStringT<>

How about doing an Object.ReferenceEquals(x,y) in the Watch window? You can also do GetHashCode()[^] but it's not guaranteed to be unique for each instance.

Hi, Thank you for the answer.
But I don´t have the two instances at that point, to be accessed.
I wish to use Debug.WriteLine() to get the address (id) of the instance into the debug text or text file.
GetHashCode() don´t work hence: "If two objects of the same type represent the same value, the hash function must return the same constant value for either object."

Hello,
I have a problem I hope you have help me with. I am using a datagrid for displaying products from a customer's shopping list. The shopping list is downloaded into a datagrid.
Table name: ShoppingList
Field names: ProductCode, ProductName, Price
Using the following code that works ok.
SqlConnection cnn = new SqlConnection("server=.; Database=ShoppingService; Integrated security = true");
SqlCommand cmd = cnn.CreateCommand();
SqlDataAdapter da = new SqlDataAdapter();
DataSet ds = new DataSet();
cmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text;
cmd.CommandText = "SELECT ProductName, Price FROM ShoppingList";
da.SelectCommand = cmd;
da.Fill(ds,"ShoppingList");
grdShoppingList.SetDataBinding(ds,"ShoppingList");
However, I have used the table styles so that I have a quantity and select columns. Qantity to be a comboBox and select to be check box.
This is so that the customer can select the quantity from the combox and check the select the checkbox when they have selected this product to buy.
The problem that is does the display the combo box and checkbox columns when loaded from the database, if I commet out the database code then it
will display them.
I need to display what in the database with the extra columns designed in code to display the quantity, and select columns.
My datagrid should have the following columns. Product, Price, Quantity (comboBox), Select (checkBox).
Product and price display if I load from the database.
Quantity and select, if I commet out the database code.
I need both.

Hi Dear
Which Datagrid are you talking about.
If it is Datagrid for Web Forms then you can define template columns for it and its very simple
ms-help://MS.MSDNQTR.2003OCT.1033/vbcon/html/vbtskAddingTemplateColumnToDataGridWebControl.htm
Check this article at msdn or search "template columns in Web Forms DataGrid control" at msdn and you'll get the solution.

Hi all,
I have a dataset in C# which I successfully exported to an excel sheet. I want to save the excel sheet automatically with a given name. There is a property called Save, but it will open a dialog box which requires user entry to enter a name. I just want to save the file automatically if I could give the name programmatically somewhere in the code, I mean I did not want any user interruption. How can I do that? Please help me in this regard. Thanks in advance.

SAve is a property or a method ?
if it is a method u can specify the filename as the argument.
if it is displaying a dialog, you can hide the dialog and there is a
property called _filename which u can set to the name that u want the file to be saved with.
HOpe u get it and it works for u

Thank you for taking time and effort to answer. Sorry for the wrong info given to you. Save is a method.
I tried to make it work as instructed by you. But again, I'm sorry to say that I'm not getting the correct result. I have searched for the Hide property, but not able to find out the same. If you give me the code examples, that would be really great. Following is the code I have written.

hi,
Just modify the following
instead of _excel.Application.Workbooks.Add(true);
take the reference in an object of Excel.Workbook
Excel.Workbook wrkbk = _excel.Application.Workbooks.Add(true);
and dont use the _excel.Application.Save()
use the following
wrkbk.SaveCopyAs(filename);
wrkbk.Saved = true;

I want to create a setup file for my application thats is done vs 2005..
how do i compile the crystal report information to the setup file
cause now when i run the report from my application after setup the is error
itried to copy manually the dll into the directory.. still cannot
diff error come out saying that.. the file to something i n registery..

hello i have used
a datagrid and implemented the dataadapter functions for any update in dataset!
but whenever i delete any row in datagrid or dataset
the hole get created in the database table
like for ex i have records in this manner

C
C++
Vc++
and if i delete c# then update database by calling
dataadapter.update(ds,"Book_Detail);
the hole get created in table blank field remains in table
is there any way to avoid hole and manage the table
