I have 2 solutions WFPath and ParToChildWF that are being called in different workflow nodes and different workflows.
The error is System.TypeLoadException: Could not load type 'WFPath.Class1' from assembly 'ParToChildWF, Version=1.0.4720.26649.

You referenced the assembly of the project, and now that the solution is rebuilt, that specific assembly is gone. I'd suggest to add the project as a reference.

I added the references and ran the workflows I'm still getting the same results.

Some project is referencing an outdated (compiled) class.

This is not a question that can be easily answered; please try and explain what problem you are trying to solve. If you just want to learn about delegates and events then see these tutorials[^].
One of these days I'm going to think of a really clever signature.

He members,
I have a window service and a separate UI application. I want to display a popup message (popup control is placed inside the UI application) after every 10 min or after meeting some xyz condition I want to display that popup message on user desktop. This whole functionality is working nicely in window XP but in Window 7 this message got displayed on the service desktop instead of the window desktop.
Window Desktop: Normal desktop of window 7
Service Desktop: a blank desktop containing a system popup with “Go Back“ button.
Can somebody please provide any suggestions on it.
Regards

Window services does not allow any user interaction

|
|
|

Do we have any alternate by which wo can achieve it ?
|
|
|

Don't use a service would be the alternative; does the "logic" in there have to run without user-supervision and/or before login? If no, convert it to a console-app. If yes, launch the UI-app using normal user-credentials, and have it communicate with the service (over TCP/IP e.g.)

Hi Eddy,
Some times our o/s also displays the notifyicon to upgrade java version. That thing is also performed though window service. Even i want to perform the similar task through my window service.
Can you please suggest.

I already did; and no, someone misusing the system doesn't make it a good idea to copy. Services run without user-supervision, and should not display anything. Whom are you going to display to on the logon-desktop?
Your app would run happily as a user-mode application on startup.

Eddy,
Yes its not a good idea to copy but still i am ordered to do so..

Then re-read what I wrote on communicating over TCP/IP. And yes, I'm kinda used to people being ordered and blindly following.
Aw, there's Godwin again
--edit;
Let me rephrase; is the person who proposed this idea and "ordered it" also going to take full responsibility if there's a virus on the network?

No, it's not. It's a normal application that is launched from the Run key that does this check, not a service. It's started every time someone logs into the machine.

|

|
1. right click the service in services.
2. Choose "properties"
3. Select the tab "Log On"
4. click the radio button on top saying "Local System account"
5. Tick the checkbox "Allow service to interact with desktop"
I would strongly recommend AGAINST doing this.
hope this helps.

V.
I have already tried that approach but that fails too.

It's not going to work at all.
Starting with Vista, services are no longer allowed to interact with the users desktop. This is expecially true as there is sometimes nobody logged in at the console so there's no desktop to interact with.
You cannot do what you want from a service application. This MUST be done as a normal user app that is usually launched from the Run key in the registry. This application then communicates with the service over some transport, like named pipes, TCP/IP, Shared Memory, or what ever you want. It's the job of this application to provide the user interface for the service, send commands to the service and show any data the service needs displayed.

When I was first learning MVC3, I found the pluralsight videos and tutorials over at http://www.asp.net/mvc/[^] where of great help.
I actually learnt MVC3 while developing a KPI Management solution for my degree, and it was a great help.
Cheers,

Thank you Dave,
I am also learning fro the same site, and i reading books also,
i am asking for the better approach or good practice for application development.
As per my knowledge there is no default event handling in MVC 3 so is there any different approach ?
