Yes! Exactly! The definition of link in Websters just says "see magic". And if the link magic is not enough it will conjure the C# magic. If that is not enough C# will conjure C++ magic which will conjure C magic if needed which in turn, if needed, will conjure assembly magic.

c'mon.. I'm asking seriously..
by "do it's magic" I meant convert linq query into sql query, connect do DB, execute the query, return data and so on...
life is study!!!

Websters also says "post to linq forum"
It depends if it's a delayed query or not. If not, then it is done against and in-memory sequence
only two letters away from being an asset

ok.. who/what's "Websters"?!..

I'm using c# Express 2008 but I am having problems positioning forms relative to controls on another form.
I'm trying to get a virtual custom keyboard / keypad form(Form B) to pop up next to a control which is embedded on a different form(Form A) but I read that the control.location or control.left and control.top methods only reference the parent form (Form A) co-ordinates.
Is there a way to get a control position relative to screen resolution so when I create form B i can pass it the left and top values so it appears next to the control?

It does seem like a large overhead to create an MDI form to get the form position next to a control...

We can't help you because:
1. You have not specified what your problem is. You will need to show what have you done so far and where are you stuck.
2. You are requesting code while you have to ask. Remember that no one will do and is obliged to do your work so try to be pleasant.

You posting this in a forum that people use for help with C# programming = spam as far as I'm concerned.

Ok, this is doing my head in now, how can it be so hard...?
Right I have 2 Forms (Form1 and Form2)
All I want to do is refresh data on Form1 from Form2
Form1 displays some data from a db.
Form1 also has a button that opens Form2
----Form1----------------------------------
private void hplNewAppointment_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Form2 OpenNewForm = new Form2();
OpenNewForm.ShowInTaskbar = false;
OpenNewForm.TopMost = true;
OpenNewForm.Show();
}
public void RefreshScheduler()
{
this.tblScheduleTableAdapter.ClearBeforeFill.Equals(true);
this.tblScheduleTableAdapter.Fill(this.dS_tblSchedule.tblSchedule);
}
---------------------------------------------
All good so far, Form2(OpenNewForm) allows me to enter a new record into the db, when I close Form2(OpenNewForm) I want to refresh the data on Form1
------Form2(OpenNewForm)------------------
public OpenNewForm()
{
InitializeComponent();
form1 = new Form1();
}
private void btnClose_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
form1.RefreshScheduler();
this.Close();
}
--------------------------------------------
Ok so I can access the method on Form1 but it does not refresh the data...
How can I fix this????
thanks

ziwez0,
Doing:
form1 = new Form1();
Creates a new instance of the form which isnt the one being displayed. You need to reference the form that is already open. You can do this a variety of ways but the easiest and quickest would be to pass it as a param to Form2.
E.g:
Form2 OpenNewForm = new Form2(form1);
And then in the constructor of Form2:
public Form2(Form form1)
{
InitializeComponent();
_form1 = form1;
}
Then just use:
_form.RefreshScheduler();
If you want to find out about other ways, have a read of:
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cs/pass_data_between_forms.aspx[^]
and:

Gareth.

Hye
I am creating an application in which i want to display a word document in a rich text box. The coding is working properly it activates the MS Word but it doesn't display the document in the rich text box and gives me a COM Exception named "System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80020005): Type
mismatch."
the exception comes in the following code.
{
docWord = appWord.Documents.Open(ref filename, ref ConfirmConversions, ref ReadOnly, ref AddToRecentFiles, ref PasswordDocument, ref PasswordTemplate, ref Revert, ref WritePasswordDocument, ref WritePasswordTemplate, ref Format, ref Encoding, ref Visible, ref saveChanges, ref originalFormat, ref routeDoc, ref ReadOnly);
}
I've also converted the document type from .doc to .rtf.
Do Someone have any idea abt this exception?
Thanks in Advance

why don't you use the WebBrowser-component to show the DOC file?
Something like this:
String FileNameAndPath = String.Empty;
FileNameAndPath = (String)lbMSWORDSelectedItem; //lb = ListBox;
Uri uri = new Uri(FileNameAndPath );
brwsrMSWORD.Url = uri; // brwrs= Borwser component
