1. you can get the app to go where the clock is using a Notify Icon
2. i have no idea how you would get the text under the mouse, would the user need to select the word or just hover over any part? does the display need to be text or could you display an image, but i dont know how you would know what is text and what is not.

Thanks mark_w_ reply!
when the cursor hover over any part of the word(No need to select the word),it can show the current whole word,if there is no word under the mouse, then doesn't need show a messagexbox.
and the display need to be text.

How do I replace the following text
"<ns0:NxPrinterImportAll xmlns:ns0=\"http://elite.com/schemas/transaction/process/write/NxPrinterImportAll\">
to
Note that I want to remove backslashes i.e. \
"<ns0:NxPrinterImportAll xmlns:ns0="http://elite.com/schemas/transaction/process/write/NxPrinterImportAll">
I tried replace but can not get the \ to replace with nothing.
Thanks

Use
string val = mystring.Replace(@"\", string.Empty);
|
|
|
|
|
Hi,
That does not make a difference because the output string is the same as the first string.
|
|
|
|
|
Either what Pete suggested, or:
Replace("\\", "");
The backslash must be doubled because it is used for so-called escape characters. For example "\n" means newline, "\t" means tab, etc. That's why to indicate a single backslash, you use "\\".
For the differences between the two types of sting forms read this:

Hello,
That does not make any difference to the output either.

Hi,
I figured it out.
This is a feature in the visual studio.
If I output to output window then it shows without the backslash.
Thanks for ttrying guys.

You probably changed the product/upgrade id. There are countless resources on how to do this correctly.

Can we change the value of a variable while debugging a C# application?
|
|
|
|
|
|
Yes. You can do this in the Locals window by double clicking on the Value, or by directly changing it in the immediate window. The variable must be in scope, and you must be at a break point to do this.

Hi,
I have the following xml which I wouold like to pass to the xml parameter of a web service.
please note I do not know how to get the < or > in this forum. sorry
Here is the xml
<ns0:NxPrinterImportAll xmlns:ns0="http://elite.com/schemas/transaction/process/write/NxPrinterImportAll">
<ns1:Initialize xmlns:ns1="http://elite.com/schemas/transaction/object/write/NxPrinter">
<ns1:Edit>
<ns1:NxPrinter KeyValue="Dummy" AliasField="Name">
<ns1:Attributes>
</ns1:Attributes>
</ns1:NxPrinter>
</ns1:Edit>
</ns1:Initialize>
</ns0:NxPrinterImportAll>
So I copy and paste this xml into the textbox of the web service xml parameter but when I then check the content of the text box, this following xml seems to be copied only.
<ns0:NxPrinterImportAll xmlns:ns0="http://elite.com/schemas/transaction/process/write/NxPrinterImportAll">
Do you know why?
|
|
|
|
|
Your whole approach of passing the raw XML is WRONG. To communicate with a web service, add it's web reference (URL address of the WSDL file) to your VS project. Visual Studio will automatically generate C# classes (called proxy classes) which correspond to the service and it's web methods.
After that calling the web method is like calling a method from a DLL. The Microsoft.Web.Services engine will translate your requests and responses to XML (SOAP), so you don't have to.
I hope I cleared some of the fog.

Hello everyone,
I am using loadcontrol method to load custom controls.
I have a single .aspx page and a left menu (.ascx control) which is loaded dynamically.
When i click on the left menu's link, control is loaded accordingly.
The problem is:
Loadcontrol always loads control with ispostback=true.
It happens bcoz i have used __doPostBack() onclick of the leftmenu's link.
I want the ispostback = false in the control's load event.
Any help is always welcome.
Thanks,
Malay Khandhediya.

I created a simple key logger application and the user's key strokes are stored just in the memory of the computer.. this time i made use of a socket.. so i created another application that will remotely control that key logger.. and one of the function is to be able to retrieve the key strokes from the remote computer and send it to the application which controls the keylogger remotely.. it worked in my localhost.. but when i used it in two different computers the connection of each was successful, but the buffered keystrokes doesnt show up... i'm suspecting its firewall... so i disabled the firewall of the remote computer.. here's my question, in sockets, do i have to turn off BOTH of the computer's firewall to let it work? is there a way to bypass the firewall? cause if there's no other way i'm going to let the program itself disable the firewall which I dont want.... or maybe its not the firewall causing it.. any idea?

If your a doing this for a Good Purpose you wouldnt worry about the Firewall, you can tell the person who owns the remote PC to turn the keylogger off. but i suspect you are creating something malicious here. So we cannot help you do that.
