try LINQ to query XML! but not as good like using a real database
download here samples about that subject(xml), not the hardest thing to learn, i think!

Hi All,
In my current C# app I need to write what seems to be a non-standard format XML file to be loaded into a very picky application.
I'm limited to this kind of format:
<rootnode name="preset #1" attribute1="" attribute2="">
<childnode index="0" />
</rootnode>
If there are any namespace (like xmlns the app won't load the file, if there is an encoding="" the app wont load the file also.
And to top it off the file needs to use UNIX ANSI not Windows ...
Does anyone have any ideas or info/links on how to achieve this?

On the other hand, there appears to be very little data, so I bet it loads real fast.

Ummmm... Your code ain't showin' up. Try escaping all of your pointy brackets, and then put it in a pre tag.

Yes, but I wanted him to do it.
But while I'm here... I see nothing wrong with that XML; it seems well-formed.
The worst thing I see is the #, which might be better off escaped/encoded.

I generally use an XmlDocument to hold XML and write it to a file with code like:
WriterSettings = new System.Xml.XmlWriterSettings() ;
WriterSettings.Indent = true ;
WriterSettings.Encoding = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8 ;
WriterSettings.OmitXmlDeclaration = true ;
WriterSettings.CheckCharacters = false ;

)

Doc.WriteTo ( writer ) ;
}
You may need to tweak WriterSettings.NewLineChars and WriterSettings.Encoding.

Well, you have a book, that is a good start. You are a member of this site, that is also great. Just start reading, work on some simple projects, if you get stuck, there are people here who may be able to answer questions you have.

I am registering an onclick event it works fine but if i add this event I am unable to edit the htmldocument inside the webbrowser even though I set the designmode to on. But if i remove this event everything seems so fine. May be something going on inside the event. Can anyone of you please put some of your insights definately help me out.
