The local Indians don't need developers; they need people to plunk coins in slot machines.
On an unrelated note... You're an independant contractor, yes? You get 1099s and estimate your taxes? Do you have to contribute to unemployment and Social Security?

If you do 1099 you have something called SE Tax which will be 7.5% of your income after expenses. A large chunk. I have my own corporation so I only pay SS and Medicare on my W2 wages and not profit at the end of the year. With respect to Unemployment insurance most States do not require it if you own your own company and are the sole employee, 1099 does not require it period. If you wish to carry it then it is nearly a trivial amount. Also, 1 million in general liability will run about $250 a year if you want to carry it.
The bonus of having your own company is that it is perfectly legal to accept 1099 payment (some vendors refuse to do Corp-Corp and only do 1099) and then toss the 1099-Misc at the end of the year.
If you do 1099, my best advice is to take 25% of net (after expenses) and send it to the feds via estimated tax payments every quarter. You will get a little back but the next year but it is a surprisingly good assessment.

i want to perform analysis on SQL code.
In this i would like to separate the blocks in SQL code.
for example, in the code below
for condition1 loop
stmt1;
for condition2 loop
stmt2;
end loop;
end loop;
i want to separate these two blocks and create a data structure which will contain outer loop block and will also have inner loop block.
which is the best way to do so? is there any parser available which can handle the nested loops in the best possible way?

SQL Works best when using set based operations and not cursor based (ie, loops). Try to think of the data you need in terms of sets and write the query based on that and you will be amazed at the performance you will get. If you really want to perform cursor logic on your data your best bet may be to transfer the sets to your application and use application logic to do the combinations.

Thanks for the help.
But here the contents of the input SQL file are not known before parsing.
Is there any parser which can tokenise the input SQL code? So that i can use its output to create structures as per my requirement in C#?

Has any one created a Listbox type control similar to the one that is found in the Firefox Download screen? Or something similar?
I'd really appreciate the help!

Start out with a UserControl, and dub it "WorkList". Set "AutoScroll" to true. This will cause scrollbars to appear in the master-control when there's items that don't fit in the client-area.
Create a new UserControl called "WorkItem" that holds:
- a label
- a progressBar
A minimum & maximum-height of, e.g. 200.
I assume that you'll be using backgroundWorkers to do the work, and that you're going to keep the progress of each thread in the "downloadlist". Whenever you create a new backgroundworker, you also create a new "WorkItem" usercontrol, and pass it as a parameter to the new thread. Set the Dock property to "Top", and it will snap in place in the list.
In the .DoWork of the backgroundworker, call the backgroundWorker1.ReportProgress( ... ) method.
This will raise the backgroundWorker1_ProgressChanged event, in which you update the progressBar of the associated "WorkItem"-usercontrol. If the Control is @100%, dispose

i tried to fill a data table using a sqldataadpter, even though no exception occurred the table wasn't filled, i then used the data set , it was filled with data, i used the same query , is it possible to fill datatable directly using a sqldataadpter.

Um yeah you use
SqlDataAdapter.Fill(DataTable);
Be sure you use the right set of commands for your version of SQL Server. i.e. SEL Server Compact Edition uses the SqlCe namespace.

Maybe I shouldn't waste my breath saying this but using DataReaders and entity objects is much more efficient than datasets.

Dude, you've asked this already and clearly have no clue what you're doing. Ray tracing is not simple. Give up.

thanks for ur reply....we r working on computed tomography project.....my part is 3d visualization....
i am having set of 2d images..somewhere i got books related to 3d visualization.....there they mentioned volume rendering is the technique used for 3d visualization ....thuts why i am asking here bout that....

If you have a book, why do you ask us the questions???
Why don't you guys ever use google. It's the best for these kind of things...
I've googled this string: "volume rendering 3D".
What did I get? A wikipedia article:
wiki/Volume_Rendering[^]
At the bottom of the page there's almost always a link part with good and usefull links.
Use those and go to here:

Hi
I am trying to work with an ActiveX COM object written in VB6. Most of it works fine but there is one function defined as follows:
short GetExamDetailsBuffer(VARIANT pVariant1, VARIANT pVariant2, VARIANT pVariant3)
This should return the data in 3 arrays of strings. It translates into a function that looks like this in .Net:
public virtual short GetExamDetailsBuffer(ref object pVariant1, ref object pVariant2, ref object pVariant3)
So I tried calling it by declaring 3 object variables and passing them as parameters:
object var1, var2, var3;
var1 = new object();
var2 = new object();
var3 = new object();
short result = MyObject.GetExamDetailsBuffer( ref var1, ref var2, ref var3);
but I get the following error message:
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Type Mismatch. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80020005 (DISP_E_TPYEMISMATCH))
at System.RuntimeType.ForwardCallToInvokeMember(String memberName, BindingFlags flags, Object target, Int32[] aWrapperTypes, MessageData& msgData)
Any ideas to how I can get this to work?

Hi all,
I have a custom winforms control. I want to be able to use anchor/dock type functionality in the form which hosts it, to facilitate dynamic resizing. Only thing is, my control must be square (ie width==height) to render properly.
how can i force this to be the case?
Thanks
Jon

|
|
|

have you tried ensuring that Width and Height = Math.Min(Width, Height) in the Resize event? Not sure if that'll do what you want but its where I'd start.

Rob Philpott.

You can't use dock and have the control retain its shape. What you're going to have to do is use anchor, and handle the form's resize event to modify the size and position of the control.

You could host your control in a parent control. Dock the parent control, and in its resize handler do something like child.size = min( this.width, this.height ) (and recentre it in the parent if desired)

Hi ,
I need help in creating a program to send a mail using Microsoft Exchange server not SMTP. Previously I created a DTS package with a send mail task in it. It seemed to work properly in my local system where I had my MS oulook configured. But it failed in the server since it does not have a local profile configured.
If any one is able to answer to either of the above problem would be grateful.

Thanks in advance

|

Basically, you have to set AllowDrop property to true , and use DragEnter event and DragOver
