Does anybody have a compiled dll version of the Flat Date Time Picker control that has the source code listed elsewhere on this site?
I only have VB.net and I really need a flat date time picker Windows forms control. (I can't compile the C# file that is posted.)
Can someone help?

Hi all, i've searched the forums but haven't been able to find anything on this topic so i thought i'd post this question.
I've written an Installer and Uninstaller for one of my applications that runs from a dongle, the installer reads from the dongle and only installs the files that the dongle has enabled which is why i have had to write an installer.
Now i need to know how to add my uninstaller to the add/romve programmes window in the control panel, anyone able to help??
Cheers

Hi All
I would like to retrieve the name of the executable that currently owns a com port. For example, I want to know that myprog.exe has com1 open. Does anyone know how to do this?

Definitely not possible using the standard .NET API; as what you're doing requires low-level knowledge of the underlying OS. You might have better luck asking this question in a C/C++ forum, or a Win32 user group.

I have an unmanaged C++ application and want to use managed C# forms. Converting the code to managed code and rewriting in C# are not options. Somehow I think that the CComPtr is a key but am not sure how to use it. Can anyone help?

I have to ask...Why do you want to use Windows Forms in C# if you're not going to rewrite the code to use them and not going to code anything in C#? AFAIK, you're going to have to rewrite the code no matter what if you want to use managed objects like Windows Forms.

Actually here is a better description of what I'm doing.
I am writing a custom interface to manipulate some data in a CAD system.
The CAD system is written in C. I would like to use C# to manage the interface and only call the C routines when necessary to communicate with the CAD system. Since the CAD system has control to begin with I need to pass control to C#. To do this I first must have C bring up the C# form. I think I can handle the calls to C from C# once I have the form opened (I've found some articles). The best that I can find is that the CComPtr can be used but I don't seem to be having much luck. Does this make any more sense?

While I don't know that it's possible to call into a running C++ application, you can call exported functions in a C++ dll using P/Invoke (http://pinvoke.net). Or if the C++ library uses COM, just add a reference to the dll in Visual Studio, which will call AxImp utility to create a wrapper of the COM dll usable in .NET. Or if you don't have Visual Studio, use the AxImp command line tool manually to generate a wrapper.

Hi!
I think you have two options here, depending on what the CAD system allows you to do.
If you can create COM objects from within the CAD system then you can expose a C# class to COM (I've written a wizard to do just this: A COM class wizard for VS.NET 2003[^]). Then you can create instances of your (C#) class with regular CoCreateInstance() calls, like you would with other classes.
If you can't do this, you could write a Win32 DLL that exposes an entry function (TransferControlToMyCSClass ) and in this function you can then instantiate and use your C# class via managed C++.

Hi
It can also be done by writing interface code to C# forms in Managed C++ then you can create instance of managed C++ object in unmanaged code using gcroot<>.
Hope this helps.

Session_Close, also breakpts dont work Posted on: 02/07/2005 15:46:55
I put code that is supposed to execute here in VS 2003
and it never gets to them in the development
environment. Session Close never gets reached if I press
the close button on the running program window.
Also, under what circumstances does the breakpt red
circle get a question mark and not work? This happens
a lot on my laptop. Insufficient memory?

By "program window", I assume you mean a Windows Forms app. There's no such thing as a "Session" object assoicated to a Windows Forms app, so of course, nothing will happen.
If your talking about an ASP.NET, or Web Forms, application, then the Session_Close code will be called when the session on the SERVER side times-out and closes, not the client side. This can take upwards of 30 minutes on some servers.

Hi,
As my current company fails in re-using existing code, I've started my own library. Now it's only some basic stuff, but the idea is the expand it in time.
Above some functions a set /** <summary>comment here</summary> */ because I want that comment to appear in intellisense when using the object.
This works inside the solution, but I'm importing this solution as dll inside other projects. I would like to have the intellisense info there too. How can you do that? (It doesn't appear right now)
I have compiles it as doc and the .xml file is generated.
Can you do it with C++ also?
tnx!

Name the XML-file like your library e.g. MyLibrary.dll --> MyLibrary.xml, and copy the XML-file along with your library.

I had to restart VS, but it worked tnx! Can't you do it automatically when adding a reference?

I don't know exactly. Tried it just now with my VS.NET 2002 and had to reopen the solution.
Maybe it's already included in a later version of VS.NET. If not, well I think one can live with that as most people doesn't add references that often

The answer is yes. But you have to restart VS in order for the reference to the .xml file to be properly loaded. If your MyIntellisenseProj.xml is built and located with you MyIntellisenseProj.dll, then adding the reference will pull over the .dll and xml files. The only thing is that you either have close and reopen the solution or close and reopen VS. Seems stupid but that is the only workaround that I have found so far. Hopefully they fix that in VS2005.

I am using Panel as container for usercontrol hosted on a Windows Form, this application uses AutsoscrollMinSize for Panel so usercontrol can display larger images.
When my form gets deactivated i.e. some messeagebox appears or form gets minimized and again when it restores back...panel scroll Position gets lost and scrollbar shifts to (0,0)...
I've tried saving Panel's ScrollPosition in Form_Deactivate and restoring back in Form_Activate in global variable....but stiill I could not reset panel scollposition, though I have correct position in global variable.......I think need to trap some other event, Is it so??
Any help regarding this would greatly be apprciated.

Hi there,
The following code for Crystal Reprot is OKay under the culture(En-US).
ParameterFieldDefinition myDef;
SCRPrintJob myPrintJob=new SCRPrintJob();
ParameterFieldDefinitions crParamDefs=new ParameterFieldDefinitions(myPrintJob);
ParameterValues crParamValues=new ParameterValues();
ParameterDiscreteValue crParamDiscreteValue=new ParameterDiscreteValue();
crParamDiscreteValue.Value=this.AccountDateFrom;//It is a value from DT picker
crParamDefs=r_GLActivity.DataDefinition.ParameterFields;
myDef=crParamDefs["DateFrom"];
//myDef.ApplyMinMaxValues(frmMain.system.MinDate,frmMain.system.MaxDate);
crParamValues=myDef.CurrentValues;
crParamValues.Add(crParamDiscreteValue);
myDef.ApplyCurrentValues(crParamValues);//<-- Following Err Msg appear in there
----------------------
When I change some regional options,it behaved strange manner.
----------------------
An unhandled exception of type 'CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ParameterFieldException' occurred in crystaldecisions.crystalreports.engine.dll
Additional Info:
Invalid parameter value: exceeds the Min or Max
or conflicts with existing value or edit mask
---------------------
I've already tested Parameter Options in rpt file and cultureInfo.
But it does not work
When I trace the date value, there is no different as the value it works.
Right now! I've no idea how to handle that.
Thanks in advance for kind reponse.

Hi,
I have a MainMenu which have several "categories", in these "categories" I have several MenuItems with checkable Sub-MenuItems. A few of my users have complained about the fact that the menu collapse each time they have checked a MenuItem, is there any way to make the menus stay expanded after clicking a checkable MenuItem?
I hope you can understand this a bit diffuse description.
Best regards,
Daniel

Hi,
i think you have to edit the menu class a little.
But I don't know how, sorry.

Hi,
i'am trying to find some Information about how to Do Bandwidth Limitation in C#. But
it's hard to find something usefull. My Goal is it to write an Application like NetLimiter with a WebInterface to change configuration.
At the moment I'am trying to get some Information about how to limit the Bandwith
for a single Process. I've read something about Winsock LSP & QoS but I can't figure out if this technologies could help me and how I can use them.
So if you got any Tip or just a googel Search Str tell me please

This comes up so often and the project gets dropped just as often because you have to write a device driver to handle the throttling of bandwidth. It's really not recommended you do this in C#. You can do it in Managed C++ though. This way, you'll have an easier time exposing an interface usable by a management application.
You won't find much information on the web, simply because it's a niche product and there is little demand for it.

I'm trying to take a variable call it intTotal
If I have the number 1234567890 I want to extract the 90 first and put it into a label, then the 78 and put it into a 2nd label, then the 56 and put it in a 3rd label and anything else will be put into a 4th label. The number is completely random and is differen lengths from 0-whatever. Any ideas on how to make this work?
