I adapted the code and am using the scp client in my application, however I used a commercial implementation of the ssh layer.

I have a timesheet pogram that I am trying to convert from a DS based program to C#. I have all of the functionality of the old program, and then some, except for printing the report ( which I will gve an example of ). To descibe what I have to use for data, I have a DateTime Array(one for each day of the week). In this structure, I populate it with info from a table. The table includes the employee id, date, time in, time out, hours worked, type of work, and lunch break. Where could I start to get this information into a report via Crystal Reports? I couldn't paste the report for a good representation( it wrapped). I don't have web link for it either..and doesn't look like attachmants are allowed.....
Anyway...the main question is how do I use structures and arrays with Crystal Reports? Is it even available? I need this report to look as close to the old thing as possible..that what the payroll department wants...
And where should I start learning crystal reports?

Hi everyone, freshly arrived in the System.Drawing namespace , I try to figure out how it works. But for this precise problem,
I need your help: I am trying to load an image in a Bitmap object. The source file is a .pgm grayscale image (format specifications:
http://netpbm.sourceforge.net/doc/pgm.html)
I don't know if there already exists some method from a class that can help me convert the data or if I should write something on my own. In this last case, I really lack some idea.
As always, it would not be fun if I was not in a hurry, let's say that my project is turning into an emergency.
Any help is welcome
Thx

write in a memory stream the bmp header and decode the pgm data to the stream and load the stream as a bitmap and voila.

Thank you for your help.
I just like to insist on the beginner aspect of my question. Could you be a more precise?
I don't think I need the bmp header, I just want to use the System.Drawing.Bitmap class.
Also, the decoding phase from pgm to bitmap is a bit confusing for me. What PixelFormat should I use for the receiving bitmap?
Is the conversion from a single int to a pixel is okay?
grayValue = br.ReadByte();
pixel = Convert.ToInt32(grayValue);
bmp.SetPixel(i, j, Color.FromArgb(pixel,pixel,pixel)
Thanks

you forgot to scale the grayvalue
# Each gray value is a number proportional to the intensity of the pixel, adjusted by the ITU-R Recommendation BT.709 gamma transfer function. (That transfer function specifies a gamma number of 2.2 and has a linear section for small intensities). A value of zero is therefore black. A value of Maxval represents CIE D65 white and the most intense value in the image and any other image to which the image might be compared.
in the exemple 15 so pixel =(int)((grayValue *255)/15);
PixelFormat should be the default Canonical
# Each gray value is represented in pure binary by either 1 or 2 bytes. If the Maxval is less than 256, it is 1 byte. Otherwise, it is 2 bytes. The most significant byte is first.
so you need to do either a readbyte or readuint16

Tank you,
but even when scaling, I still have some troubles. I can not understand why.
But the good news is that I have found a library for .NET languages that opens many type of image files. It's called DEvIL.NET and can be found at: http://www.mastropaolo.com/?page_id=20
This solution is easy to set up an works pretty fast.
Thank you for your help CiNN

Can any one point me to an application to generate UML from C# code and the other way.
|
|
|
|

I've tried a few free UML programs aswell as 'community' editions. Of those that I've tried I think StarUml is the best, it is open source and supports C# generation and reverse engineering.

Is there a way to determine a users average upload speed in C#?
Im creating a upload manager and want to be able to use the largest chunk size i can to send the file, but this requires knowing what the user can upload (average kbps), is there anything written that can test the upload speed so i can automatically adjust the size of the chunk being sent?
thanks

Testing the upload speed is done by uploading something. There isn't really any substitute.
If you can adjust the chunk size during upload, you could just measure the time for each chunk and change the size according to the last results. That would also have the benefit of adjusting to changes in the upload speed during the upload.

You're gonna need some 3rd party library to do this; there is no 3d support built into the current .NET framework (although this will change with Windows Vista's .NET version).
For now, you could use Managed DirectX[^].

You'll have to ask the people that wrote the menu bar how to use it in your project.

Ummmm....yeah....perhaps you could rewrite this question so we could understand it?
Are you asking how to take the source of an existing webpage and import it into your C# project?

Hi all,
I save attachments on the harddisk and when the user clicks on a button the file has to open as it does in Open file dialog.The problem is that the file does not open at the same time no error is posted.Please help me.
Here is the code
FileStream fs=File.OpenRead(path);
fs.Close;
path is the path of the filename
|
|
|
|
|
Better check MSDN on the FileStrem object.
Your code does nothing more than open and close the file. No data is read from it.
|
|
|
|
|
FileStream fs = new FileStream(path, FileMode.Open);
fs.Close();
