I developed a chat software. But it works only in LAN. Because I am using IP address to talk each other. The problem is the ip address of 1 machine is local to the LAN. I want to communicate to a machine which is residing in another LAN through Internet. How can I ?
Please help me
Cheers

For this problem you have to create one server application. Now your all client send request to server & talk through server. before that client connect with server.
I think this will solve your problem.

Developing a client-server program or peer to peer program on a LAN is only the first step. Once you are fully assured your application(s) is/are working then you can proceed to trying to make it work over the Internet.
Let's look at the requirements:
1. Internet Connection
2. Some way to identify your public IP address (i.e. the one of the Cable or DSL ISP)
3. A Router
Your application will run on your LAN. It has a well known port, lets say it was 5999. Over on the router you will need to configure 5999 under Port Forwarding in order to send public traffic matching that port to the computer on your LAN that is running your application.
Meanwhile your friend or colleague needs to know two things to connect: Public IP and port.
You can also use this basic technology to setup a FTP Server, Web Server or other common applications (including Remote Desktop) that you wish to remotely access.
Ahhh, but lest we not forget the one caveat. If you can see it on the Internet so can people with nefarious purposes. So make sure you have a firewall in place, keep your software behind the DMZ.
Good Luck

My friend your program if it connected successfully to its server so your application is running properly but you can't connect to the actual world wide except when you enable your application ports in the internet connection firewall on windows xp sp1 or sp2 then you are done enjoy your life with your small chat sever application.
Thanks my friend i hope it may help you.

Hi all
can any body help me to know how to add a panel control as a treenode in a treeview control
thx all in advance
|
|
|
|
|
The .NET treeview allows you to add objects in the Tag property, so the node can reference a panel control. Click the node, get the Tag and then you have access to the panel and its control collection.
In the tree, only Node objects will exist in the node collection so you can't specifically make a node a panel, but using the Tag you can make a node essentially the same thing.

i tried to do this
treeView1.Nodes[0].Tag=panel1;
but it didnt worked
may i didnt understand your words right
|
|

That works for me. Exactly how does it not work? Remember you will have to cast the object out of the Tag, likes this:
Panel panel2;
treeView1.Nodes[0].Tag = panel1;
panel2 = (Panel)treeView1.Nodes[0].Tag;
panel2 doesn't have to be a control you dragged onto the form, it could be an object of type Panel. If you are using the panel object as a way to get at a collection of controls, then you have to read the Tag data into another panel object, then get to the controls through the new panel object (as in the example above).

Hi!
I'm trying to make a C# video player and i need to auto hide the mouse cursor in fullscreen after some time. I've managed to hide it and show it, but i get weird bugs. The longer the cursor remains still the longer it takes to hide it and show it and i don't know wtf is going on Here's my code:
int mishImobilan = 0;
void MainForm_MouseMove(object sender, MouseEventArgs e)
{
mishImobilan = 0;
Cursor.Show();
}
void ProvjeraMisha()
{
if (mishImobilan < 10)
{
Cursor.Show();
}
else
{
Cursor.Hide();
}
if (Cursor.Position == Cursor.Position)
{
if (mishImobilan < 30)
{
mishImobilan++;
//Cursor.Show();
}
if (mishImobilan >= 30)
{
Cursor.Hide();
mishImobilan = 30;
}
}
else
{
mishImobilan = 0;
Cursor.Show();
}
//testic.testBox.Text = mishImobilan.ToString();
if (mishImobilan >= 10)
{
Cursor.Hide();
}
}
// This is the timer
void tajmerZaNest_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
ProvjeraMisha();
}
And also, does somebody know where can i get a separate Managed DirectX redistributable installation? I need it for my program but i have December 2005 release with the complete DX redist that weighs about 47 mb, and thats really big. All i need is a couple of managed dx dlls...
Thanks!

Can somebody tell me what font and font size can draw fastest in Compact Framework(like MS San Serif or Tahoma or,...). What's i should choice among them? Thanks
Nothing

|

Probably a fixed-width font but I doubt there's much difference in speed unless you do your own calculating of positions in which if you're using a fixed-width font such as Courier New you can optimize the code by making a few assumptions.

Eh
you did helped me well last time. but i can't post any message's on my previous topic.

I for one, do not have a clue what you are talking about.
Perhaps try asking a question, preferably with a meaningful subject line.

Hello!
In my project I try to use LDAP services via P/Invoke (it's a must . All the stuff worked fine till the certain moment. Now when I need to go thru the object's attributes I just stumble upon the problem that I can't get an attribute other then the first!!! Just because function ldap_next_attribute returns a zero value instead of the pointer to the next attribute in the array. Here is the code:
<br />
private static NameValueCollection WR_LDAPGetAllAttributes(IntPtr pEntry)<br />
{<br />
NameValueCollection nvcAttrVals = new NameValueCollection();<br />
IntPtr pBer = new IntPtr();<br />
IntPtr ppValue;<br />
int iValueCnt=0;<br />
IntPtr pAttribute = ldap_first_attribute(pLDAP, pEntry, out pBer);<br />
while (pAttribute != IntPtr.Zero)<br />
{<br />
ppValue = ldap_get_values(pLDAP, pEntry, pAttribute);<br />
if (ppValue == IntPtr.Zero)<br />
{<br />
nvcAttrVals = null;<br />
return nvcAttrVals;<br />
}<br />
else<br />
{<br />
iValueCnt = ldap_count_values(ppValue);<br />
if (iValueCnt==0)<br />
{<br />
nvcAttrVals = null;<br />
return nvcAttrVals;<br />
}<br />
else<br />
{<br />
string sAttrVal = "";<br />
int ippValue = ppValue.ToInt32();<br />
for (int z = 0; z < iValueCnt; z++)<br />
{<br />
ippValue = ippValue + sAttrVal.Length * z;<br />
IntPtr pVal = Marshal.ReadIntPtr(new IntPtr(ippValue));<br />
sAttrVal = Marshal.PtrToStringAuto(pVal);<br />
nvcAttrVals.Add(Marshal.PtrToStringAuto(pAttribute), sAttrVal);<br />
} <br />
}<br />
}<br />
pAttribute = ldap_next_attribute(pLDAP, pEntry, ref pBer);<br />
}<br />
return nvcAttrVals;<br />
}<br />
here is the origial definitions:
<br />
PCHAR ldap_first_attribute(<br />
LDAP* ld,<br />
LDAPMessage* entry,<br />
BerElement** ptr<br />
);<br />
[DllImport("Wldap32.dll", EntryPoint = "ldap_first_attribute", CharSet = CharSet.Auto)]<br />
private static extern IntPtr ldap_first_attribute(<br />
IntPtr id,<br />
IntPtr entry,<br />
out IntPtr ber);<br />
<br />
PCHAR ldap_next_attribute(<br />
LDAP* ld,<br />
LDAPMessage* entry,<br />
BerElement* ptr<br />
);<br />
[DllImport("Wldap32.dll", EntryPoint = "ldap_next_attribute", CharSet = CharSet.Auto)]<br />
private static extern IntPtr ldap_next_attribute(<br />
IntPtr id,<br />
IntPtr entry,<br />
ref IntPtr ber);<br />
I will appreciate way much if anyone help me. Thank you in advance.
