Hello-
I found some code on the Internet for some dynamic breadcrumbs. The instructions say to include this code in the code-behind of the .aspx page:
***code***
using System;
using System.Collections;
using System.ComponentModel;
using System.Data;
using System.Drawing;
using System.Web;
using System.Web.SessionState;
using System.Web.UI;
using System.Web.UI.WebControls;
using System.Web.UI.HtmlControls;
namespace Sabre_Solutions.Loads.Topographic_Effects
{
///
/// Summary description for BreadCrumbTest.
///
public class BreadCrumbTest : System.Web.UI.Page
{
protected System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataGrid DataGrid1;
protected System.Web.UI.WebControls.Literal lblPageTitle;
protected NameSpace.headerBreadCrumb header;
private void Page_Load(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
{
// Put user code to initialize the page here
string PageTitle = "Test the Title";
lblPageTitle.Text = PageTitle;
header.HeaderText = PageTitle;
}
#region Web Form Designer generated code
override protected void OnInit(EventArgs e)
{
//
// CODEGEN: This call is required by the ASP.NET Web Form Designer.
//
InitializeComponent();
base.OnInit(e);
}
///
/// Required method for Designer support - do not modify
/// the contents of this method with the code editor.
///
private void InitializeComponent()
{
this.Load += new System.EventHandler(this.Page_Load);
}
#endregion
}
}
***end code**
If you noticed, I bolded two lines of code. It looks like I am supposed to declare another class, but I'm not really sure what to put in the code. I assume I am to declare a header class. I researched and my attempts have not been successful.
Does anyone know what I am supposed to do to make these lines work? (The orignal article mentions nothing about these lines.)

It looks like OR you need to reference to an external assembly OR you have to create a class with that name and put some code (which is or which they forgot to mention on that website)...

Line numbers (label control)
or some custom stuff - image for example or something drawn with GDI+ like the dots added for debug breakpoints
or which is the most important in my case: a drop down list control with options.

Not enough information to help you out here i'm affraid.
If your website is using a database, then your application also can use that database...

I am using the Webbrowser control in VS 2005 C# Express to automate the navigation of pages on a partner's web site. The first page contains an <IFRAME> element:
<iframe style='width:40; height:40'; align='center' marginwidth='0' marginheight='0'
scrolling='no' frameborder='0' id='xyzlogin' name='xyzlogin'
src='https://www.xyzcorp.com/accounts/ServiceLogin'>
</iframe>
Within that frame I need to access these three elements:
<input type="text" name="Email" value="" class="xyz le val" id="Email" size="18">
<input type="password" name="Passwd" class="xyz le val" id="Passwd" size="18">
<input type="submit" name="null" value="Sign in" class="xyz le button"
so I can programmatically: 1)enter the user ID and password, 2)click the 'Sign in' button.
I thought maybe Webbrowser.Document.Window.Frames would be the way to go but that did not seem to work (sorry, I'm not at my development environment right now or I would provide more detail).
Frames is an HtmlWindowCollection. An HtmlWindow has a Document member which is an HTMLDocument. So, would this work:
-Look through the Frames collection until a HtmlWindow named 'xyzlogin' is found.
-Get the Document member for that window and extract the following HTMLElements by ID: Email, Passwd.
-Set the InnerText properties for these elements.
-Find the button element (how? it does not have a valid name or id)
-Use InvokeMember("Click") to click the button.

Can anybody tell me what is the significance of interfaces of .Net framework, i mean , how i as a developer can make utilize.(with one small example)

Interfaces are a contract that an implementing class must fulfil. If an interface defines a method called "DoSomething()" then every class which implements this interface must define this method.
They are often used as a "Lowest common denominator" when dealing with objects where you dont know the exect type of class being used.
For example, a Data Abstraction Layer which works with Sql and Oracle databases may have a method called "CreateConnection" which returns an instance of a class which implements System.Data.IDbConnection - It does not matter to you, the user, whether it is a Sql or Oracle (or Access or MySQL) connection - just that it is a Database connection.
IDbConnection defines methods such as
-Open
-Close
-CreateCommand
-BeginTransaction

thanks milky,
But still i am not clear the usage of interface, may be i am unable to visualize it properly.
Can you pls give me one clear exmaple for - They are often used as a "Lowest common denominator" when dealing with objects where you dont know the exect type of class being used.
sorry for my ignorance

I tried to use \\server\directory but i got an error saying that UNC path can not be like that. What class can I use to convert the \\server\directory into a path that is acceptable by DirectoryInfo?
Thanks.

Post your code.
Are you making sure to format it like this:
@"\\server\directory"
?

|

I’m working with an ActiveX and it’s API has some samples on how to handle COM interfaces and so on.
How do I make the call QueryInterface in C#?
My C++ codline work like this:
<br />
hr = pMaterialField -> QueryInterface ( IID_ISFColorObject, (void**)ppDiffuseColor );

Try looking at the System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal class. This class has all kinds of static methods for handling COM interfaces and so on.
I hope this helps.
