First the info you've provided isn't suffecient to judge the problem, but I'll take few guesses here.
1- The way you use to copy the array -ignoring the MessageBox of course- is quite wrong. You should use Array.Copy() or Array.CopyTo() static methods instead.
2- Failure of the static array ecludes that discarding the values of the CheckedIndices when closing the form is the problem.
3- Make a breakpoint and see the values of:
a. count
b. CheckedIndices.Count
c. indice.Count

well nader

the way i'm copying indices like this is due to the requirement of my problem.
the code i mentioned above is actually a function of form A. when i access this function from Form A, it works fine. But as soon i call the function from Form B it gives the exception. the complete function is:

public int[] GetCheckedIndices()<br />
	{<br />
	int count=Global.Instance.Count_Indices;<br />
	indice = new int[count]; <br />
	MessageBox.Show(count.ToString());<br />
	for(int i=0;i<count;i++)<br />
	{<br />
	indice[i] = TableListBox.CheckedIndices[i];<br />
	MessageBox.Show(indice[i].ToString());<br />
	}<br />
	return indice;<br />
	}//end function

now TableListBoxis the name of me checkedListBox
and CheckedIndices is its property.
indice has been declared as "public static int[] indice".

CheckedIndices.Count has the index of the items that have been checked in the chckedListBox.
ope this gives u enough information to understand the problem

Things are starting to clear up a bit, but don't be frustrated when I tell you that you still didn't answer all of my questions. I'll put them straight this time:
1- Do you call GetCheckedIndices() from FormB directly? please post the code in FormB.
2- What is Global.Instance.Count_Indices?
3- When the above method is called by FormA. What are the numerical values of:
count, indice, TableListBox.CheckedIndices
4- Again when you call the same method from FormB; What are the respective values?

Forgive me if I didn't get a clear idea, or if I'm asking too much misleading question, but I'm trying to cover all the possibilities here.

i want to format DateTime so that Day part of Date should be printed like that '1st','2nd','3rd','4th' etc. Please help me in this regard.

There is nothing built in to .NET that I'm aware of. The closest you'll get is say: 1 November 2006. You would have to create a custom class to handle this.

i'm novice in C#.net 2005 and i want to know how to call or invoke the directX, how to display an image to the screen (full screen size) and how to play a music(.wav or .mp3).? what are the libraries needed..? Please give sample codes....

Try using the DirectX 9 SDK. Examples are included. But if you're a novice at C# then I suggest you learn the basics first, since directx isn't so simple to begin with...

Well, if you have some expercience already, I assume you already know about gdi. I'd use that to display the image. If you need a way to go fullscreen, just google. There's plenty of examples. Also, there's a p/invoke thingie for playing sound. If you insist on using directX, I don't see why you would, just use the examples that come with the sdk.

when u have an unbound combo box in the datagridview. how do u get the value selected in that combobox. I'm trying to do that and its giving me a nullref exception. I'm working in c# 2.0 windows forms

I was trying to access that with somethin like this

datagridview1["AttendanceComboBoxColumn",i].Value.ToString();

but its not working.

You can have a MSI project to setup right. That would manage your install and deinstall seamlessly. To create a MSI project you can access New -> Project -> Setup and Deployment project in your Visual Studio.

Holding the form untill all controls are painted

Hi all,

I have an application that fetches data from a web service, and then displays the data into the datagrid on a form.
I have put some images so that the form looks similar to the Web page developed for the same application.

Now the problem is when i show the form the form displays and then all the controls are slowly painted on it.

What i want is the form should not be displayed until all the controls are fully painted on the form. So that it does not flickers.

Any ideas, pointers in this regard will be appreciated.

there should be two function available called SuspendLayout and ResumeLayout.

Hi every 1,
I have a project in which I am using DataGridView and I have to show ContextMenu on the grid.
The problem I am facing is, I need either the Index of the cell where the user "Right Clicks" or get it selected some how... The reason I can't do it is that the when I assign context menu to the DataGridView it takes over the RightClick event of the DataGridView meaning that it will never be fired.

If any1 can suggest a feasible solution to it I will be great full.
