Hello everyone,
I was wondering if it is possible to change the SOUND when the DilagoBox pops up. Currently the sound that I am getting sounds like "DOMB". Is it possible to have something more elegent or customized?
Thank you very much and have a great day.

You mean message box. The sound is linked to the sounds set up in the user's preference. You can change the messagebox's icon, which also changes the sound it makes. See the various overloads of MessageBox.Show[^]
If you want something completely different then you will have to write a (real) dialog box of your own.

Hi,
I am trying to make this work here, I set a form authentication on my site from a SQLDatabase. Now the membership tool did not seem to give me all I needed so I followed an example using tickets to specify user roles from the database. All in all it works well. The only problem I am having is that whenever I am authenticated with a lesser user role (let say Role 1) and I am trying to axs a page requiring Role 2 let's say, I am redirected to the login page - not the error page. I tried to find a trick to redirect to the error page all users already authenticated (meaning that most of the time it would be because they tried to axs a page to which they can't axs) but that means even if the user wants to go back to the login page he will be redirected to the error page, which doesn't make sense.
So my question is - Is there a variable or a way to know that a user tried to axs a restricted page even though he was already authenticated??

PS: I hope it's clear, I seem to have difficulties putting it to words

If you want to redirect the user to error page, then raise a custom exception. And configure your web config file customError section to redirect to the required page.
Hope this gives you some insight of the solution am thinking of

I had thought of that but I couldn't find out where and how to raise the exception. In my mind the embedded role from <authorization> element already raises an exception to send to the login page...
So I guess I found a workaround - probably if I put the error page as my login page in the webconfig and then redirect if not autenticated it would work. Although I find it a bit sloppy and I cannot beleive there isn't a better way to do this ...
but thanks for the input

You are in the wrong forum, you need to be posting this in mobile development forum.

You can embed any binary data as a resource in the project. However, I am suspicious of a request to hide any executable code inside another assemby. It seems to me to be the first step on the road to creating a Trojan.

no..no..no
i don't want to create trojan,virus,spyware or ...
i want to protect my exe file(s), that's right

And how is embedding it in another exe going to protect it?

Hello everyone,
I have a ContextMenu in my Windows Application with FOUR of options. I was wondering how I can add a check mark to the left of the options in order to show the user which one has been selected?
Thank you very much for your help and have a great day.

The MenuItem in the Context Menu has a Checked property. Set it to true.

How can I refer to the image in the resource of ma project how 2 get its path.............

Hi,
if you add a resource (say the icon myIcon.ico) to your project (say myProject),
inside a folder called resources, then the following code would access it:
string resourceName="myProject.resources.myIcon.ico";
Assembly assembly=Assembly.GetCallingAssembly();
Icon icon=new Icon(assembly.GetManifestResourceStream(resourceName));
BTW the "Build Action" for the resource(s) should be set to "Embedded Resource"
(use context menu "Properties" in the Solution pane).

Hi,
there is probably something wrong with your resource name.
you can try something like this to see all the resources and their correct name:
string[] sa=assembly.GetManifestResourceNames();
foreach (string s in sa) Console.WriteLine(s);

I have been searching like mad to try and find a way to use this namespace, but have been coming up empty handed. So far, I have found plenty (through google and msdn) to say that it DOES exist, but nothing showing me how to use it. adding using System.Diagnostics.Design does me no good, and trying to add it as a reference got me no where (it simply doesnt appear to exist on my pc).
i have both the 1.1 and 2.0 frameworks installed and I am using vs 2005. Does anyone have any idea how to get to this namespace?

What is in the namespace that you want to use?

I ProcessDesigner , ProcessModuleDesigner and ProcessThreadDesigner.
Part is pure curiousity, part is i may be able to use this to finish a project i am wrking on. IF i cant use it, oh well, but knowing another part of the framework never hurts.

The documentation says "This class supports the .NET Framework infrastructure and is not intended to be used directly from your code." for ProcessModuleDesigner[^] and ProcessThreadDesigner[^]. I didn't find anything on IProcessDesigner .
These classes are just the glue between existing .NET components and Visual Studio. I don't think (especially going on what the documentation says) that you are supposed to use these classes yourself.
It might be worth examining them in something like Lutz Roeder's Reflector[^] to see how they work and use that as a basis of creating your own classes, if you need to interact with the designer.
