Sounds fancy... do you mean you'd like to store the rating within the image??
|
|
|
|
|
yep. Do you have PhotoGallery? When I use that to give a rating (0 - 5 stars) the size of the file changes. When I use a HexEditor, I see that the header is changed, but I do not like to mess around with headers and I'm pretty sure there is a better way.

The values are stored in the header as you say. Some metadata added onto the picture information.
I've got an exif library that I got off the internet.
I'll see if I can find it. I belive it can write values as well as read them.

It's actually ExifExtractor from here on CodeProject.
http://www.codeproject.com/csharp/exifextractor.asp[^]
But as the name spells, 'Extractor', I'm not sure it can alter values.

Well, I have (for Delphi which I'm using most of the time) an Exif-class as well as a IPTC-class which are both able of reading and writing tags. But the point is that there is (as far as I can find) no info about reading and writing ratings in both specifications.

I would like to display the cells (it would be 16x16 cells to display) like ListView but I only want to have the cells, not the header row nor the header column (as you can see in datagridview). If I use RichTextBox, it slows down the graphic GUI... I know the table display would be the best for me to use.
Anyone done that?

i have one gridview with 4 diff colums.
1. EmpID
2. Empname
3. DeprtName
4. Gender
It show normally grid when load.
But when we select EDIT then 1,2 colums are textbox and 3rd is combobox with dept name and 4th is radio button MALE & Female.

Use template columns. Then in the ItemTemplate you have labels and in the edit template you have text boxes combobox etc. I would guess right now you are doing simple binding which doesn't give you any option to what controls you see when you edit the row.

Do you mean datagridview or just gridview? If gridview, then how do I get that started on my GUI? I'm trying to find documentation on this.

Hi, I am hving troubles with inserting Date in my database. I have a field in my table in the databse whicih is Date/Time format. For example if I want to insert s specific date (let's say it is 19th july 2007) i need to insert 19.7.2007. Now that is not the problem. I have a string which is formated correctly. It goes as "19.7.2007". But when I insert it to database it reports error, because the dataset for that table needs a varaiable that is Date format and not a string. In visual Basic.NET i used Cdate function for converting strings in dates. What functions should I use in C#?

Hi, .NET has a DateTime struct that holds both date and time information.
And that is what everyone seems to be using to insert date information into a database
(unless the field is defined as a string that is).
|
|
|
|
|
DateTime.Parse, DateTime.ParseExact, DateTime.TryParse, DateTime.TryParseExact.
If you know the format, prefer (Try)ParseExact. Use the Try version if you would prefer to test whether the format matches rather than getting a FormatException exception.

Any Links to Beautiful Looking Controls Like Buttons, Scrollbars, Labels, etc. I've come across Aqua Buttons, Arrow Buttons, Round Buttons. I'd like a Good Looking Scrollbar and ListBox.

An Excellet Site for Java's Look And Feel Classes. There has to be some for C# as well.
Thanks...

Hi, I want to create a ListBox in which I can Display Data which can be easily viewed from a 10 feet distance. So I need to make my ListBox's Data Appear Large. Any Ideas. Thanks...

Hi,
if your ListBox is showing text only, you can choose any font you like.
anyway, you can decide to draw the items yourself. See DrawMode property, and
MeasureItem/DrawItem events.
There also is a property making it show only an integral number of items at once.
MSDN will tell you all the details.

Hi all,
We are developing a Load testing tool like WebLoad.
We use HttpWebRequest/Response objects to make request/response.
I want to know how much time taken to download first chunk of data after i make request.
As HttpWebRequest.GetReponse() method doesn't allow to get data in chunks..
Please help..
Thanks & Regards,

Hi all,
I have written a custom control (derived from ComboBox) which lists a lot of users (userid's). I have a splashscreen where I create an instance of my form (I have made it a singleton class) so the loading of the items from the database occurs when I first create the instance (which I can do in my splashscreen).
This all works fine, and the combox items are filled during the splashscreen. However, the real drawing (or updating) occurs when I show the form, so the users still have to wait about 10 seconds before they can actually use the form.
Is there any way I can fill the combobox so it will be usable immediately when I show the form?
Thanks!
Best regards,
