By the way, you should use unchecked syntax to do it your way:

string binaryString = Convert.ToString(unchecked((long)ulong.MaxValue), 2);

No, that is not correct.

The result should be:

this: 1
is: 2
a: 2
dog: 1
and: 1
that: 1
pig: 1

There are three steps:

1. Write a function that goes through your sentence and isolates individual words.

2. For each word, check if it's in a hash table that maps strings to integers (counts). If it is, increment that word's integer and save it in the hash table's entry for that word. If it isn't, insert the word into the hash table with a one count.

3. Go through the hash table and print out each word and the integer associated with it.

You have to write the code yourself, though.

I've created a datagridview which gets the data from a table whic has 3 columns engineID(Primary Key), engineName, and engineUrl.

what i want to do is i just want to get the engineUrl from the datagridview who's checkbox is selected and then store the engineUrl in a string variable... which i want to manipulate later.

Also if multiple checkbox is selected then all engineUrl field text should be stored in a variable string.

Hi,

Using WMI is the easiest way to access the other machines and fetching the information in the LAN. So I would suggest to go with WMI.

Hi peeps

Does anyone know if I can call code created in VB 6 from C# 2008?

If so, what areas (or keywords) do I need to look up to reaserch this on?
Not quite sure what I should be typing into Google at the mo.

Yes, you can.

VB6 dlls use COM. It's called COM interop.

Pretty much all you do is VS is add a reference, go to the COM tab, locate the library you want to use. VS will create an interop assembly. (You can look in this assembly to see the details of how the COM stuff is called, if you fancied doing it manually)
