I cannot find a way to do that in C#... gave MemoryMappedFile a try, File is written to disk as well. I'm looking for a solution to write only to disk....

You need to create a file on Hard drive?
Use methods from the built in classes of .net framework (File and Stream writer)

Hi, thanks...
I need the file to be in memory and not on hard drive....

|
Use a MemoryStream
Works the same like writing to disk.

|
True, but I have to avoid the disk writings, that I cannot do...

The MemoryStream won't write to a file. That is, until your memory is full and Windows starts swapping to disk.
You're gonna read/write a lot from several places in a single datastore? You've probably already tried it, but I still want to suggest the use of a database. There are some data-driven websites out there, serving lots o' people at once..
This site is one of them

Removed some typo's..

What type of file?
And for what will it be used?
Have a look at
System.IO.MemoryStream

|

I would like to place a pointer in a mapped memory file for all dll's share... It has to be in memmory for preformance rather then on disk...

You would have to use the Windows API to use a Memory Mapped File and potentially unsafe code. However, I believe that the FileStream class uses the Memory Mapped File under the scenes.

Hi,
We need to implement DVD/CD burning utility in C#.NET using IMAPIV2. We are able to write the data to the DVD/CD if the data (ISO) to be written is less than the DVD size.
But we have come across a scenario where we have to write multiple disks when data (ISO) to be written is bigger than the DVD size.
When the DVD gets full user should be asked to insert another disk and the burning should continue from where it stopped?
Could anyone give us the solution for this?

The obvious answer is YES - what else could you do, abandon the burn and lose the rest of the data?

We're using some components from the DevComponents-suite, for Windows Forms (not the WPF-version). The initial loading takes way too long.
One can see the window being 'built' the first time. It's relative fast once it's loaded, but it's annoying to see a screen being built for five seconds. Is there anyone here that can confirm this behavior?
We're using version 7.0.0.4

Have you tried the vendor's website? From memory they even have live chat.

i have a code in vb6.0.i want to convert it into .net[vb or c#].
how can i convert the code.
Please help me regarding this
Thank you

I don't think there is any tool available for doing such conversion.
You have to do it manually. If you find any problem in conversion of any specific block of code. You can post it here for conversion.
