create a CPtrArray SaptaSri10-Oct-06 20:27 SaptaSri 10-Oct-06 20:27  Hi... can anyone help me with this problem??? I need to create a CPtrArray called Array1. From a dialog i need to take the values and store it in this Array1. After that I need to display the values in the Array1 back in the dialog. SO can any one suggest a solution for this. also am new to MFCs and am stuck here without any solution.. Please do it as soon as possible.... What exactly you are trying to do? You can not run an executable using CreateProcess(...) unless you have its complete path available. Its very logical indeed. Isnt it?? Use WSAEventSelect() to have an event object signaled on FD_READ (and maybe FD_CLOSE). Use this event to wake your I/O thread and recv ALL received bytes (call recv until you get WSAEWOULDBLOCK error), adding the received bytes to a buffer each call. Loop and wait again on the event. Let another thread process the received data. This works very fast even on TCP/IP because you are keeping the receive buffer flushed. Much better than doing it on the UI thread through Windows messages like you are now. Mark
