How to partially disable the slider bar?

I wanna implement a partially disable the slider bar? I can't find any function available in MFC.
Like example below, I only want enable selection for 0 - 100 and disable the rest. Any ideal?

Sorry,my english is very poor.
you can use 'EnableMenuItem' function,this function enables or disables(grays) the specified menu item.
The return value specifies the previous state of the menu item (it is either MF_ENABLED or MF_GRAYED). 0xFFFFFFFF indicates that the menu item does not exist.

The EnableMenuItem is to apply for whole item...
Hum....How to make the slider bar partially appear enable and disable(gray)?

No partial enabling/disabling of windows is possible (APIS).

Why can't you split that scrollbar in to two and handle each ? If this is not possible in this case , you may want to do your own control/painting.

I don't think the default CSliderCtrl can do that.

Me think you will have to :

- create your own control (which can be fun)
- change the UI to dynamically change the range of the slider and have some sort of way to let the user know.

Hum..the current solution is show text msg to tell user know now got limit control..

Doing exactly what you want will be hard, but have a look at these articles:

I am trying to do something like this. But it is giving error

string string1 = "abc", string2;

string::iterator it = string1.begin();

       while ( it != string1.end() ) 
	{
		string2.append(*it); 
		it++;        
	}

i think u can just use like string2 += string1. no need of having loops for this.

BTW if u want to stick with loops u can modify it like append( 1,*it) Big Grin | :-D

Thanks a lot for fast reply.

I need loop because I want to do some manipulation. Both ways are working fine.
I found this also

string2 += *it;

How can I miss these silly things Poke tongue | ;-P

How long do you want the string to be?

If CListCtrl created by LVS_REPORT, can change it to the LVS_SMALLICON? [modified][Solved]

One CListCtrl object created with LVS_REPORT style, and added Item to it.

I want to change its style to LVS_SMALLICON,
m_ListCtrlLocalFileList.SetExtendedStyle(LVS_SMALLICON);
But there is no changed in the UI. why?

LVS_SMALLICON is not an extended style, and so cannot be set by this call; see here[^] for how to change the non-extended window styles.

LVS_ICON, LVS_SMALLICON, LVS_LIST, and LVS_REPORT

But the CListCtrl is created, only I can do is delte this CListCtrl and Create a new one with LVS_ICON, LVS_SMALLICON, LVS_LIST, or LVS_REPORT ? Is there another way to set the Style to LVS_REPORT
?

try using ModifyStyle. For example to change from report to small icon view call function
like this listctrl.ModifyStyle(LVS_REPORT,LVS_SMALLICON);

Hi guys, i am new to cryptoAPI. I have used public/private keys algorithm in .NET.
But in MFC i need to do the same thing, i need to generate public and private keys and store them
in files.
In cryptoAPI all function uses the handle to keys that's why i am confused how to generate keys,
store in files, and how to use them for encryption and decryption.

some one tell me how can i achieve this...
