Hi Guys,
Iam displaying overlays to screen using the DeviceContext.I display it to screen by calling the "PlayEnhMetaFile" Function.Everything worked fine until I Tried to load an emf File which contains slanted Lines(Iam attaching the file also along with this).When I run my application & load this Emf file everything is fine.But when I scroll the emf file using scroll bars,the lines appears like ZigZag,not slanted any more.
Any idea what could be the cause...

The Lines appear Zigzag only when the image disappears from the clientarea while scrolling...

sir,
I am making my own custom controls using subclassing technique in core Win32 programming. But problem is that I don't know the solutuion for message reflection in Win32 programming. Message Reflaction is provided in MFC but how to do that in Win32 programming. I have heard to use FORWARD_ message crackers but how to use that I don't know. So tell me how to do this in win32 so that message sent to parent window procedure will automatically transfered to my child window procedure where i can handle it.

As far as i know that the message reflection is a functionality of MFC not in generic windows messageing.
I guess FORWARD_WM_NOTIFY this macro may help you.

Hi,
This is kesav. i need ur help to fill up my problem with some managable solution.
My problem is :
I've a ActiveX control. In which i need to display multiple graphs look like graph in different window.
But i do have option of create only one instance of the Control but satisfies multiple graph option.
If Do You have any solutions ,please post me .

I am Using IHTMLInputElement in my application
I downloaded Latest SDK
and i have IE6 and win2k on my m/c
But while I compile my project, I get following error -
'IHTMLInputElement' : cannot instantiate abstract class due to following members:
warning C4259:'long __stdcall IUnknown::QueryInterface(const struct _GUID &,void ** )' : pure virtual function was not defined
c:\program files\microsoft sdk\include\unknwn.h(113) : see declaration of 'QueryInterface'
etc
this continues for all methods of IHTMLInputElement
I hav also integrated the SDK with Visual studio but am still getting that error...
Any idea Y this happens...

Thank you for helping me.
I didnt import type library.
But my problem is solved. Actually i did a mistake declaring
IHTMLInputElement variable as follows -
IHTMLInputElement pInpElem;
instead of
IHTMLInputElement *pInpElem;
The thing is we cant create an object of an abstract class but can declare a pointer....
But still Mr.Prakash is it necessary to import typelibrary in my VC++ application (I am using Win32 API , no MFC).
I mean i only know that we neeed typelibrary for VB Application.
Can you please make my concept clear about this.

is it posible to write a program without the use of

Its no use explaning about pointers like this in the forum, what you should really do is get a book on pointers and understand the concept and different things related to that like referencing and how it is used with function arguments etc..
sure i can anwer this question but i bet its going to only solve one question from 100s regarding pointers.
so no point do it.

hi man,
in fact, we uns pointers for many reasons. First, in C++, the existence of the pointers comes from the compatibility with the C, in which references don't exist.
We also use pointers instead of value copies in function calls because it become heavy and "memory hungry" if we transfer some big data structures... for that reason, we also have the const keyword to avoid writing on pointed datas.
The last reason i see wee use pointers for, it is because sometimes, we don't use variable names to refer to datas (tables, vectors, queues...). We so don't have other way to manipulate these addresses that with pointers...

Hi, I have two projects, one client and one server project. I would like to have both projects in one workspace, and when the user starts the application, he can choose to load either the client project or the server project. How do I do this?

This is a complete answer but it will solve part of it.
What you do is on the workspace window, click on tabview, right click at the top of the treeview and say insert workspace, select the workspace either ther server or the cient depending on which workspace you are inserting to.
Now on the classview you will see 2 workspace, right click on the workspace and select 'Set active project'.
Now run the application , which ever is the active project will be executed.
Hope this solves ur problems.

Can anyone please help?  I know that I can modify the style and icons associated with the tabs in a CPropertySheet, but how can I handle tab control notifications. One (among many) of things I want to do is determine when the user has clicked on an active tab and toggle the icon for that tab.

One way i can thinkof is create a class derived from tab control, then
in oninitdialog of the propertysheet get the pointer of the tabcontrol and subclass it, this way you will recevie all the notifications of the tabcontrol to your tabcontrol class.

Just to clarify.
1. Derive a class object from CTabCtrl (CMyTabCtrl) with message handlers for tab messages like (IsChanging, Click etc).
2. Include the new header in my CMyPropertySheet.
3. Maintain a protected member (CMyTabCtrl m_oTabs) in CMyPropertySheet
4. In CMyPropertySheet::OnInitDialog do m_oTabs = GetTabControl();
Is there anything else I need to do in order to subclass the tabcontrol?

no 4th is wroung.
4. Get the tabcontrol pointer using GetTabControl()
CTabCtrl *pTabCtrl = GetTabControl();
5. subclass the window.
m_oTabs.SubclassWindow(pTabCtrl->m_hWnd);
This will direct all the messages and notifications of the tab control to your tabcontrol.

Hi all,
I've created my own form. when it opens, and i am not changing anything, and try to close it, i get the message 'do you want to save your changes'....
i've look via outlook spy at the appointment item properties and saw a 'read only' property called 'Saved' which has the value false.
my guess is that is what causing the form to be closed with the saved question first....
my question is how to start the form with the saved as true? (as i mentioned before it is a read only property)
can this be done using MAPI?
