I've got MFC/C++ based code.

I've wrapped it in static lib (C++/MFC also) providing in .h file e.g. single function that does call to the code.

The lib wrapper .h file contains only single function declaration without any hints to C++ or MFC

int DoSomeTask();

I added that lib with .h file to C console application without MFC support using only standard win libs

I can compile project without problems but I've got unresolved externals during linkage. What is the problem?

error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _DoSomeTask() main.obj

If this function is in the C++ library then its exported name will be in the 'decorated' format - I can't remember the exact rules for this. You will need to find the name from the lib file and use that in your linker options to map to the correct exported name. You could also check the LIB options to see if you can export the undecorated name from there.

Many thanks! I also remebered C/C++ calling issues and looked into C++ FAQ lite.

But there appeared mem leaking from MFC I posted another request above

Doubt with respect Microsoft TFS

hi all,

i want to create an application in such a way that whenever a person Checks-in the code in TFS,
i want the details such as userid,changeset name and description to be updated into an excel.

is it possible to do? is it possible to fetch details from Microsoft TFS to an application which we are creating?

can anyone please guide me how to proceed with this task?

Why?! That's something that TFS will record in the repository log...or do you trust an Excel spreadsheet more Roll eyes | :rolleyes:

Hai i am having an exe,i want to move it from one pc to another. when i try it on other pc that dont have Visualstudio 2008 it is saying application configuration error.i am having a dll & which path should i give it to it.
I am using Visual studio 2008

You should either install the VC2008 redistributable package[^] on the target machine or statically link your exe to the MFC and C runtime libraries (you have to modify these in your project settings).

you need to make a release build (without debug dlls). Static linking is the easisest way to make it. Thumbs Up | :thumbsup:

you can use memu "Project"->"settings(Alt+F7)", click "complie" in dialog, then choose then choose "Code Generation", see the "use run-time libraray", choose "MultiThreaded" or "MultiThreaded Debug", rebuild project to apply changes.

What values, and what do you mean by readonly? In either case whatever you are trying to do here looks extremely dangerous to me.

this values is DWORD type.

I want to set the value = 5000 , and the value can't be changed .

Actually you can change the behavior.
Usually while accessing other process memory location you need write permission to that memory, it can be done with VirtualProtect function, which grands write permission, just have a look on that [^]

I will only give you a hint.
1> using % and / operators to get the individual digits.
2> Use switch case to determine what is the unit digit that you have and print string in it's place.
