Hi all
I have developed an application and now I want to change the background of each and every dialog box and also of the non client area of the main frame window. I want to change it to the color with gradient effect.
How can I do that?

Thanks for reply.

Yes I have already tried it. It changes the background color. It also adds the gradient effect but only to the dialog boxes.
My requirement is to provide gradient effect to each dialog box, non client area, various controls like button, edit box, progress bars, list box, list controls, caption bars….. in short to every single control or window visible to the user.

How can I achieve this?

All it is is a little MFC project that I keep in the solution I have open all day long.
I use it to test code before I post it here in CP Smile | :)

It has lots of commented out code for
FAQs. It's just a simple dialog-based project. Of course, the coolest thing about it now is

Hi,

UpdateLayeredWindow() returned error "The parameter is incorrect", I tried to use AlphaBlend() that use similar parameters and it works fine

Here is the code:

I'm not sure though, try giving second parameter as NULL.

hi
I am my app i am showing a form to a user using using the doModal method.

int nRet = myFrm.DoModal();

And OnOk event of this form i am validating all the fields. But the problem is , if the user presses the escape key on this dialog, the form gets closed and in nRet i get value as IDOK , without validating any feilds of the form. Why is it happening so.. and how to avoid it.

How did you check that the return value was IDOK ? It should be IDCANCEL as far as I know.

yes it was IDCANCEL. I rechecked . And thanks .. I should have gone for FAQ 1st... i am C# programmer stuck due to some work in MFC.

Use Ctrl+Left/Right to switch messages, Ctrl+Up/Down to switch threads, Ctrl+Shift+Left/Right to switch pages.
