If you TCP you'll naturally get an exception right? i.e Stream is disconnected. You dont have to invent mechanism.But with UDP, You have to sense it on your own, may be with something like "Heart beat" sensing.

Tell me how do you get data from the server? If possible, post the code. (may be inside the thread, if you've created one)make a try{} catch{} on the code block where you receive data from client. if, the server gets disconnected, it'll enter into the catch block.

Hi
Can any one tell me - How to get a windows notification when a new window of
other application (eg Message box, dialog box) is (Created | displayed) on
window.
I know WM_CREATE message is only sent to window which we register, ie we get
notifiation of a window creation of our application.
All I want is to get window notification when a new window (other
application) is created
please reply as soon as possible,

WH_CBT is not a window message; it's a hook type. See the SetWindowsHookEx API. You might want to look for some articles on hooks as global hooks are hardish to write.

Hi all,
Creating an App with Tray icon is one way to customize my app. But I want to hide all of them, i want my app runs in background, maybe it will appear in window processes, but i want no trayicon, no taskbar tab. Can anyone help me.
it looks like some compress program, you can compress in background, no taskbar, no trayicon.
I just want my app run silently and noone can know it is running, except for going to task processes
Please help me.

Tray Icon you dont need to worry, It will appear there only when you make it appear there.;P , but for taskbar,

Create Window with WS_EX_APPWINDOW and WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW style!

Hello everyone, i have met a "Run-time Check failure" error when i use a WCHAR buffer to get sting read from a file.
"Run-time Check failure #2-stack around the variable tmp was corrupted", and "tmp" is a WCHAR variable.
can you tell me the reason to bring this error and how to resolve it.

While Creating any varible specially Visual Studio .net 2003 and above, give default value to variable other wise you will always see this type of error!
