go to end of the cpp file. Now start recording the macro.Then follow below steps

1. Press ATL + up arrow -This will move the cursor to the starting of the last funtion.
2. press F9 - This will insert the break point in that line

Stop recoding the macro.

I created a virtual drive(a Shell extention).But am not able to see the virtual drive when i open it from file->open/save as option from any application.How do i get it?

Hi All,

I am developing an MFC extension dll.I want to include an application into my dll.

can anyone help me out how to call the application through DLL. Confused | :confused:

what u want is to launch an exe, u can use

ShellExecute() funtion

This is one but the thing is ...

the sequence is as follows

My Application --->MFC EXTENSION DLL -CALLING OPEN API in dll->another application should open as well as I want to commmunicate between these two applications.

I will be very thankfull to u and waitinfg for u r reply.

if u know the name of a window in the process ur going to create, u can get the handle of the window using the FindWindow() function, Once u get the window handle, U can send and receive messages.

i didn't find any links...But it simple...

1. Use RegisterWindowMessage() to register a type of message.
2. Use FindWindow() to find the Window u wanted.
3. Then send the message as usaaal using the postmessage or sendmessage.
4. Overide the WindowProc funtion of the window to which u send the message. Inside that u can check whether the message is same as as that u send using the post/send message.

CreateProcess() function would help you

Hello,

Does anybody know if it's possible to retrieve the parameters given in the command line from another process ?

I'm trying to write a program which kill and restart a process with same parameters the user give at the first launch. I can have the proces id with EnumProcesses but i can't find how to retrieve the parameters.

If you have access to that process either log it's start args or write a routine that exports them to the process you use to kill the first one.

For a general process i don't think you can do that Frown | :(

Which sql server? The type of the app does not really matter...But there are lots of ways you can connect to a sql database and lots of types of sql servers out there...you have to be more speciffic

hi all,
how to add external dependencies for a project?
I need to add a header file for the project as a external dependency. How to I add it?

Go in the project settings, C++ tab, general category and there, you have "Additional Include Directory". Put the path to the folder which contains the header file there.
Then, you can simply add the header to your project.

Another solution (much simpler) is simply to copy the header file into the folder which contains the sources of your program and add it to your project.
