I meant the dll.
Its the FTD2xx.dll that links the application software with the USB device.

U might have declared a Funtion like "CUSBtestDlg::GetStatus(.)" in the header file ( say USBtestDlg.h ) but the body or funtion definiton is not written. More over u have called that funtion from some else.
Solutions.
Either remove the funtion declaration from the header file or Add the function definition in the CPP file

To clip off the rest of the ones, you can
double dfNum=1.111111;
dfNum*=100;
dfNum=(int)dfNum;
dfNum/=100;
TRACE("%f\n",dfNum);

The above error is coming because u must compile the stdafx.cpp before compiling any other files first time.It good u build (not compile )the entire project first.

I ALREADY BUILD THE WHOLE PROJECT BEFORE COMPILE....

First, what does your stdafx.h file look like?

I was wondering if someone could tell me how to create a 2-d CStringArray.

2d CString: CString ar[10][10];
or

Okay thanks. I could have sworn that I tried that, but it seems to work now.

I have an MFC DLL ( DLL1) that talks to another DLL (DLL2) . The problem is that during an API call within DLL2 , DLL2 does a SendMessage to a window owned by DLL1 but I never seem to get notified of it .
Here is how my code looks
CMyWnd myWnd ;
Dll1_MainAPI()
{
AfxBeginThread(Dll1_Thread1, ..);
AfxBeginThread(Dll1_Thread2, ..);
}
Dll1_Thread1()
{
myWnd.Create(...);
while(GetMessage(msg, myWnd.m_hWnd, ...)!=-1)
{
if(msg.message == REGISTERED_MSG_FROM_DLL1)
{
AfxMessageBox("Received the message from dll1");
continue ;
}
TranslateMsg(msg);
DispatchMsg(msg);
}
Dll1_Thread2()
{
DLL1_API_Initialize(myWnd.hwnd , .....);
DLL1_API_Invoke( ....);
}
The problem is that the afxmessagebox is never called , even though the message is sent ( i can see the message via SPY) .
Now this occurs when there are no handlers for the registered message within CMyWnd .
If i add a handler in the message map for CmyWnd , the handler is called automatically
My design is such that I need to trap the message within DLL_Thread1() . I am still trying to figure out why I do not receive the notification .
Any help is greatly appreciated .
Engineering is the effort !

Hey All,
I am having a small problem getting my app to connect to the internet using a dialup connection when there is already an open LAN (Local Area Network) connection active. The problem is limited to Win XP only, Win 9x and Win 2K work just fine. I have tried using InternetAutodial() and InternetAttemptConnect() to establish the connection. Both functions return the appropriate success codes to indicate that they established the connection, yet they both fail to connect to the internet. They do not even bring up the dialup dialog. If I disable the LAN connection then both functions work correctly and do manage to make the connection.
I am almost certain that it has more to do with the network settings on the WIN XP machine then it does with the above mentioned functions, but I am at a loss as to what it could be. Intenet Explorer, FireFox, Thunderbird, Outlook, and Outlook Express all have no problems making the dialup connection work with the settings the way they are.
Any ideas would be appreciated

Does this function work?
DWORD InternetDial(
HWND hwndParent,
LPTSTR lpszConnectoid,
DWORD dwFlags,
DWORD_PTR lpdwConnection,
DWORD dwReserved
);

Ah yes, if only it were that simple
InternetDial seems to work great on XP, but it totally refuses to connect at all on the 2K machine (have yet to test it on 9x).

I am hoping someone out there can point me in the right direction.
What I have is a Dell 9300 Laptop that only has USB ports
My problem is I am a EET Student with a Lab project board (MDE8255-1 LPT)
info here: http://www.microdigitaled.com/hardware/mdelpt/MDELPT.htm[^]
that is designed for communication via parallel port.
What I have is a USB to Parallel adapter I picked up from Fry's. It is a "Syba USB 1.1 to parallel port cable". with Drivers built by MOSchip
Info Below:
http://www.moschip.com/html/MCS7705.html[^]
http://www.moschip.com/data/products/MCS7705/Data%20Sheet_7705.pdf[^]
what I want to do is write some code in Visual Studio.Net VC++ to handle the communication between my laptop and the trainer board. What do I need to do to setup a communication channel?
I've searched MSDN and tried their example for communication through COM1 and modified it for LPT3, that is what my USB-Para is installed as. I've searched this site and tried some of the example from
http://home.ict.nl/~ramklein/Projects/Serial.html[^]
and
http://www.codeproject.com/system/AsefPortAccess.asp[^]
These don't work for me with a little mod here or there. I am sure I am doing something totaly wrong. That is why I have come here for some guidance.
What do I need to do to get even just some rudimentary communication to and from the trainer board.
If any one is able to respond to my request don't be afraid that I am not able to read. Post all the links to resources that are usefully on this subject and be as detailed as you like. Ohhhh, and I love examples. The more the better.

Since it is USB you need to communicate with the driver. There are typically control, input and output calls for this. Beyond that I suspect you will need to talk to the manufacturer to get the API.

Thanks for this clarification. I'll look into that method some more. If there is any other advice in how to use API's I will be very grateful as I have never worked with them before.
