Hi,
i have a set of files in a folder...i need to copy all files to temporary folder and remove readonly permission to all the files in the folder...pls let me know..
|
|

For copy of files u can do with MoveFileEx[^]
Now to remove read only permission of the File attributes, you can do with SetFileAttributes [^]

Probably you need another process monitoring the original one.
The monitoring process may, for instance, poll every, say 10 seconds, for the original process status and launch it again when needed.

I once battled a "virus" that employed such a scheme. It polled every second, however. Delete A and B would start it back up. Delete B and A would start it back up.

Well, I suppose it maybe a schema for some viruses. It is also a rather obvious mechanism (at least I hope...).

how to check the original process is live by the process's name?
|
|
|
|

Finding a process by name is a rather lenghty operation (you must go through EnumWindows [^]). Perhaps a better option would be storing the process handle (if application A starts application B via CreateProcess [^] then A may store the B process handle) and call GetExitCodeProcess [^] when needed.

Could you elaborate a bit further? You want to restart a program that was deliberately terminated via Task Manager by a user?
|
|
|
|
|
yes,and must use c/c++ code to restart.

It's useless.
zip api is included inside the Shell (adv, COM) !

Please tell me what is the sequence of the calling of the following functions in an MFC application:
1. Constructor of the class that defines InitInstance
2. InitInstance
3. Constructor of the class that defines InitDialog
4. InitDialog
5. WinMain
Thanks

I'll tell you that the "WinMain" is held within MFC's CxxxxApp object.
The other questions you can answer for yourself.
1/ Make a shiny new dialog application.
2/ Go to all the places you are asking about, and put a breakpoint there.
3/ Get a pen and paper.
4/ Run the program, and take notes on the order things happen.
5/ Impress your friends and relatives with the exciting tale of how you enhanced your knowledge.
6/ Have a
7/ Repeat 6 - it's the most important step.

I am new to windows programming.
I want to know the detailed relationship between Application,
Dialog, View, Document, Frame etc containers and the sequence of these loading.
Can you please suggest me some reference for it.

You might consider getting a good book like "Programming Windows with MFC" from Jeff Prosise.

This should really be:
6. Have a beer
7. Goto 6.
