I'll tell you that the "WinMain" is held within MFC's CxxxxApp object.

The other questions you can answer for yourself.

1/ Make a shiny new dialog application.
2/ Go to all the places you are asking about, and put a breakpoint there.
3/ Get a pen and paper.
4/ Run the program, and take notes on the order things happen.
5/ Impress your friends and relatives with the exciting tale of how you enhanced your knowledge.
6/ Have a Beer | [beer]
7/ Repeat 6 - it's the most important step.

Iain.

I have now moved to Sweden for love (awwww).
If you're in Scandinavia and want an MVP on the payroll (or happy with a remote worker), or need cotract work done, give me a job! http://cv.imcsoft.co.uk/[^]
