Hi All,
I create one sample win32 console application, which that application working for timer basis.
Example :
If the user gives the stared work is 1:00 AM and End Work is 3:30 AM and the current time is 1:30 AM then application will be in active till 3:30 AM. It automatically goes to idle state, if the system time crosses the end time that have been configured. The application will start again with in the timeframe on next day and so on.
how to achieve this application using threading
please share your valuable thoughts
Thanks n advance

Cannot you just use a timer (see"Using Timers"[^]) for the purpose?

I will give you only some leads and not spoon feed you. What you have to do is something like this.
HANDLE hEvent;
long FunctionThread(void*)
{
while(true)
{
WaitForSingleObject(hEvent, NULL);
}
return 0;
}
long TimerCheckThread(void*)
{
while(true)
{
if(timeout)
{
SetEvent(hEvent);
}
}
return 0;
}
void Setup()
{
hEvent = CreateEvent(NULL, FALSE, FALSE, NULL);
}
Event is something that allows synchronization of threads. WaitForSingleObject(...) function waits until the event is set and won't consume valuable CPU cycles. So, that job is going to start only after the time out has occurred.
Read more about the terms that you encounter here and after you understand, you can easily build on this example.

Nah, we don't encourage URGENT repressive policies.
On the serious side, really I don't know. Why do you want to turn off it programmatically (just curiosity)?

What do you mean ? You believe that by having bluetooth turned on, people will be able to steal your code ? Which code anyway ?

hi..Mr.Moonen
I just really need to code for this problem
if u cn help me plz do so........................

If you want help, you have to explain your problem more in details. If you didn't get any answers till now, it probably means what you are trying to do is not feasible (besides, not all computers have BT by default). So, what is your problem exactly ? Why do you want to turn BT off ? What were you saying with your code ?
And please, don't use text speak, it makes your post much more difficult to read.

hi..
My Exact Prob is that Im making a small project
on bluetooth,and I want that my project has option through which a user can disable the access through bluetooth..
Thanks

If it's that urgent, wouldn't it be simpler to just disable it via Windows? You'll spend more time reading from and posting to this forum than you would by just opening some Control Panel applet and turning BT off.

If it's a registry setting, you could use regmon to see what key/value is changed.

hi.
Sry bt its not registry setting,it has to be done through sum code in c/c++

I was not aware that the registry could not be changed via code. Hmmm, you learn something new each day.
