Hi.
I am having trouble finding out how to change the IP address of my network card. I'm using Microsoft Visual C++.net on Windows XP.
I have come across windows functions AddIPAddress and DeleteIPAddress, but am not sure they're really what I want as I believe that I can't delete the original IPaddress.
Any help is greatly appreciated! Been banging my head on the wall for a while now...
Cheers!

I am displaying a bitmap, loaded from a file, that my users can move and resize as they please. I've managed to implement transparency and flipping and mirroring. So far so good.
Now, under certain conditions (if the bitmpa is linked to another display), I'd like to highlight the bitmap by drawing a frame around it (well, actually I want to frame only the non-transparent region)). I have two problems:
1). I've tried framing the source bitmap - but every region function I've tried seems to return a rectangular region, so I end up with a rectangular frame, not a frame that outlines the non-transparent shape of the bitmap.
2). Obviously, framing the source bitmap is not what I need. But how do I get hold of the (potentially) moved and resized transparent bitmap that is actually displayed?
Thanks

Have you tried CreatePolygonRgn? This is probably what you want to use, followed by FrameRgn or FillRgn.
onwards and upwards...

Thanks for that...I managed to get by bitmap framed using FrameRgn. But I can't seem to get PtInRegion to work reliably. I alos need to know how to 'undraw' the frame when I don't want it to display...

Hello, follow these steps:
1:add a class derived from CEditCtrl(and name is sth.)
2:Add a variable to your Edit control derived from
created class in step 1;
3:Now you can use WM_KEYDOWN of your class.
Wish to helps you.

You can not use any functions that rely on the hWnd been set within the constructor of a CWnd derived class.
If you look at the code you will see that the pWnd is set but the hWnd is NULL.
The hWnd is set as the control is created.

I'm running a C program in visual C++ which uses command line switches. How do I use these as I've never used them before, and don't know how to specify either the commands or the the underlying options.
TIA

Without knowing what application you are attempting to run I doubt we will be able to help.

Hi - thanks for responding anyway. I think I've just made a breakthrough myself while looking for a way to explain it better.
Thank you

command line options can be found at
Project>Settings>C/C++
You can see the project option are set there.
For c programs use the /Tc key and for c++ programs use /Tp key.
You can get complete list of compiler options can be found in MSDN.
I believe most of these options can be set using GUI itself.

Both the CSingleDocTemplate and CMultiDocTemplate class contain this call:
AfxMessageBox(AFX_IDP_FAILED_TO_CREATE_DOC);
to inform the application user that it failed to create the document.
For development purposes (DEBUGING) they also produce messages in the Build results windows using:
TRACE0("CDocTemplate::CreateNewDocument returned NULL.\n");
The base CDocument::OnNewDocument() just does some intialization of existing variables. In a single document/view: this means you need to destroy any previous information your document is holding and reinitialize any needed variables. In a multiple document/view: this means you may need to initialize some data variables needed to store your data.
BOOL CMyEditDoc::OnNewDocument()
{
if( !CDocument::OnNewDocument() )
return FALSE;
if( !MyInitFunction() )
{
return FALSE;
}
return TRUE;
}
For both single and muli-doc application: The document object already exist before this member function is called, otherwize this function could not have been called ligaly. The document and the document object that holds it are 2 different things. Note: If this function fails (return FALSE) then any window created to view the data is automaticaly destroyed (the document object may also be destroyed).
A bit long winded, but I hope it helps a little.

Hi,
I am trying to port a vc6 coinstaller project (basically a DLL) to vc7. It compiles and builds correctly. The difference is that the new vc7 DLL does not display the property page for a particular device. The vc6 build is doing it correctly. I have coded an exception in the CoInstallerFunc but I see that the device Manager is not calling it.
I also posted this message to some MS discussion forums and I keep getting errors like "Your Passport session has expired. You need to sign in again before you can post to this group." I sign in and no change. I delete cookies, still no change. Looked on Google without success. So how do I post a new question to an MS newsgroup when this message appears? (It's ironic that I ask a discussion board on how to post to a newsgroup, but anyway...)
