hi there .....;)
how do i put a bmp that is present a particular location in the hardisk into an exe when building the exe file?? Confused | :confused:

Yeah i Elobarate on behalf Of Mr Sohail.

Follow these Steps
1. Insert| Resource or ctrl+r to open Resource Dialog
2.Press Import to import that bmp to your Project.

no......thatz something that i had already tried out!!!!!
u c the bitmap happenz to be 24 bit type.....so it does not get loaded(even if it does it gets converted to 256color(16 bit).....

right now i load the image seperately.....tahtz the only way i am able to get it as 24 bit
any ideas??

Do as suggested but instead of having "Auto" selected when importing change that to "Custom".

You can now specify a custom name like "bmp24" for inclusion. This will treat the bitmap as binary and will not convert it.

Thats just Visual Studio's rubbish bitmap editor. Create a Bitmap resource, close the resource editor, and overwrite the file that corresponds to your resource with your new one. It will work fine then. I do this in my current project.

Already people have explained you about it now before I could write anything Smile | :)

Look the Visual Studio Resource Editor is not able to display 24 bit BMP's But you can add them and use them. But while developing you wont be able to view or edit them in Visual Studio Resource Editor.

I think your File Handle is NULL. Let me know if you are doing any file operation in your application. If yes, then verify the Handle validity.

Using VC6/MFC

I've coded a wizard dialog, and am trying to get the OnWizardNext function in the wizard pages to perform as described in MSDN. According to the documentation:

- returning -1 tells the wizard dialog not to change pages

- returning 0 tells the wizard dialog to move to the next page in the sequence

- returning any other (positive) value tells the dialog to move to page in the chain indicated by the return value.

Returning -1 and 0 works fine, but returning any other value acts as if I'm returning -1. I've verified that the value being return is the value I'm expecting, and I'm not calling the base class' version of the function.

Can anybody provide any hints as to what I might be doing wrong?

Are you passing the ID, or the index of the page?

You could always call SetActivePage in the OnWizardNext if neither the resource ID or page index works...

the other value is the resource ID of the next dialog you want to display.

I've had the same problem a couple weeks ago ... bloody MSDN ...

Hello, I would like to have the text of the static control printed in red (just for one of them on my dialog). Is it possible to do that without subclassing the control ?

1) Assign an ID to the static control you want to have the red text. (i.e. IDC_REDTEXT_STATIC)

2) Add a handler for OnCtlColor in your dialog.

3) Check for the control ID in OnCtlColor, and update the device context text color to red:

i would like to know how to progamatically find the process ID for an TCP connection on a WIN2K system. Windows XP uses AllocateAndGetTcpExTableFromStack() for that purpose but this function call is undefined in Win2K.

But programs like tcpview, activeport is able to find the pid in Win2K also...
Does any1 know how to do it?

Hello!
I have got the following problem!

Ich have written a Dll for a Socket Connection. This Dll call a callback function when it receives a Msg over the net.
The function which is called from the dll is a global function in my Testapplication. The global function calls my receive function which only copys the msg in two Membervariablen from the Dialog. These Membervariablen are undefined (Debug shows: ???) and the program crashs.

Global receive function

function in my application (the values are received correct )

I’m using a CTreeCtrl to display an hierarch structure of a database. Is it possible to allow the user to select multiple items using for e.g. “shift” and “ctrl”?
