I downloaded source code from this artcle: http://www.codeproject.com/internet/SendTo.asp
I am not sure if its C++ code or C++.NET code but I have no idea how to even begin to compile it, but I really need to see how it works.
I have opened the file in VS 2005, what do I do now, please help, I am a newbie please help me learn!

Hey howzit James,
I opened the file and hit F7 like you said, nothing happened, could you perhaps download the file and try it out and then tell me what to do, I would really appreciate it.
Regards,
David

it's just a .h file, you need to include it in an existing project.
if you don't know how to create and build a simple project, I suggest you invest in a good introductory VC++ book ( vs2005 ).

Does anyone knows the APIs to use to obtain the current user's SID?
thanks!
|
|
|
|

By SID, I mean the key under HKEY_USERS writing to which is equivalent of writing to HKEY_CURRENT_USER. There are multiple of keys under HKEY_USERS, which one maps to the current user's HKEY_CURRENT_USER?
thanks!

I get the "Shut down windows" dialog when I press Alt+F4 on the desktop, with all the other application windows minimized. To do this programmatically, which window is this that I should send WM_CLOSE to?
thanks!

Yeah it acts as the parent for the desktop.

Hi,
Does anyone know of a C++ class hierarchy tool? I need to document and analyze the structure of a large application.
Thanks,

You could try Doxygen.

Hi, Windows don't come with a "make" utility and I have just downloaded this project with makefile I need to compile. Any pointer? Thanks.

Visual studio comes with a tool called "nmake".

I would like my newly window to open up with the given sizes. The following code maximizes the window when it gets created. Why doesn't it work? Thanks!
STARTUPINFO stStartUpInfo;
PROCESS_INFORMATION pProcessInfo;
memset(&stStartUpInfo, 0, sizeof(STARTUPINFO));
stStartUpInfo.cb = sizeof(STARTUPINFO);
stStartUpInfo.dwFlags = STARTF_USESIZE;
CreateProcess(NULL, CmdLine, NULL, NULL, FALSE, NORMAL_PRIORITY_CLASS,
NULL, NULL, &stStartUpInfo, &pProcessInfo);

|

Look like the following is missing:
stStartUpInfo.wShowWindow = SW_MAXIMIZE;
Your code looks like it would show the window hidden as it memsets the struct to zero and 0 is SW_HIDE.

The window does show up but it's maximized. That's not what I want. I want the window size to be set to what I defined for dwXSize and dwYSize .
|
|
|
|
|
Try this:
STARTUPINFO si;
ZeroMemory(&si, sizeof(si));
si.cb sizeof(si);
si.dwFlags = STARTF_USESHOWWINDOW | STARTF_USEPOSITION | STARTF_USESIZE;
si.wShowWindow = SW_SHOWNORMAL;
si.dwX = 0;
si.dwY = 0;
si.dwXSize = 100;
si.dwYSize = 100;
