Yes I recomplied my 'little' test program setting 'Use of MFC' in 'Configuration Properties' to 'Use MFC in a Static Library' & it works. Thank You
I have already tried this on my main app ad I know it does not compile when I select Static Libraries - so I am off to try to fix that.
Cheers,
Ali

Hi All
I am working on NAVSO P-5239 -36(RLL) algorithm for file erasing from disk, and read from somewhere that this algorithm provides the following steps:
1) all bytes of hard disk sectors are filles with ones (0x01)
2) hard disk sectors are consistently filled with values of 0x27FFFFFF type.
3) Secttors are filled with random symbol pattern ( not a pair of sectors should contain identical patterns).
4) writing patterns are verified.
Are these steps are used to erase a file?
if yes then I am not sure the role of RLL encoding in the algorthim.
please solve my problem.
Thanks

Good luck. You're gonna need to reprogram your BIOS. I can't say I've ever tried, but it is theoretically possible, and practically impossible.

As I said, you basically need to program a BIOS. You'll need detailed knowledge of how the motherboard hardware actually works. Nobody here is going to be able to give you a solution. You'll need proprietary information from your motherboard manufacturer that they almost definitely won't give you, even if you do ask really nicely.
The only way to do this without reprogramming your BIOS is to design and build a PCI card which has a boot ROM, and put your little program in there, ensuring it gets called AFTER the video card is initialised. Not an easy task.

I want to interrupt the booting process for processing some
keyboard inputs like displaying some message on the screen.
after finishing that job it will contineue the booting process.

not exactly before but durring booting i want to interupt the booting process. is it possible? like multitasking during booting
