I created the MFC SDI based application and created one dialog to load two bitmap images
and one custom control derived from MFC class "COleControl" and wrote the flipping implementation
in dialog source file and called the flipping action to be displayed in the custom control.But i faced
one problem while attaching the custom control in the dialog and building the application,the dialog never popsup from popup menu but removing the custom control from the dialog and rebuilding the application, the dialog popsup from menubar.Since i need modal dialog.
Can any one help me??

i was wondering if there was a way to output text to the screen without any program window, like just pure text without minimizing fullscreen applications? I m making a plugin for winamp that will be for the gamers out there who listen to their music while they play whatever fullscreen games like BF2 or planetside. Been waiting for someone to release but i ended up taking things into my own hands

the below code will out put the string to the desktop at coordiante (0,0)
HDC hDesktopDC = ::GetDC(0);
LPCTSTR lpszText = _T("string to output");
::TextOut( hDesktopDC , 0,0, lpszText , strlen(lpszText));
::ReleaseDC( 0, hDesktopDC );

this method works its just text displayed on the screen and instead of using 0 for the handle i used the desktop handle because putting 0 defaults to the program i ran it in. but what im looking for is a method to display text to the screen on top of all programs for example if i were playing an online game i want it to show text without minimizing the current fullscreen application.
i got the ::TextOut function to work but it only displays until the frame in the certain pixel refreshes and that happens alot in game. Maybe i can update it alot of times per second would work but i would need to find the class of the window that has focus. does anyone know of a library or class that does this?

im trying to give my dialog a progress dialog for long process i have the dialog done but when i try to run it it stops the main dialog from working the data i need to send will be in a while loop as soon as i close the progress dialog my main dialog starts working any idea what im doing wrong?

First thought that comes to mind is your using a modal dialog.
However, (big disclaimer) that is not truly the issue. If your trying to work a progress control from a loop with a single thread, your going to have GUI responsiveness problems.
What you really need is another thread doing the work for you.

im new at this i make new dialogs but inserting them into the project its the only way i know how to do it. but i start the second dialog with Domodal() so iit is a modal an example on how to make a modless would help alot. and abouve all else i dont want GUI responsiveness problems.

The link I provided in the previous post has the steps for letting a worker thread do the work while posting progress status messages to the main dialog. That's just one of many ways to utilize a worker thread. I'm not sure a modeless dialog will solve your problem. I've learned to dislike modeless dialogs and find them rather useless and troublesome to work with anyway.
I think you'll find the worker thread is the best solution when performing a lengthy operation without "blocking" the main GUI thread.

i read the link page and im as lost now as i was before i read it as i said im new to programming and ive never had to make a worker thread so i heve no clue about how to do it or put what where.
