Hi All,

I need to add the carriage return and line feed to a string to simulate the new line '\n' before writing it to a binary file.

what is the function I can give the ASCII Code and it returns the equivalant character.

What I need is a function that is similar to chr in Visual Basic

Just write "\r\n" to the file (at the end of each line)

There is no need for that in C++. The ASCII code IS the character. That is:

char c1 = '\n'; // c1 = 10
char c2 = '\r'; // c2 = 13

Hi All,

How can I find the current users "Application Data" directory ie C:\Documents and Settings\<currentuser>\Application Data\ in VC++ 6.0. I cannot use .NET functions.
Currently I am able to get the same using 'AppData' environment variable like getenv("APPDATA"); but I am looking for any direct functions or other work around for the same.

Great.. I am looking for some thing like this; but the problem I am facing is the SHGetFolderPath and CSIDL_COMMON_APPDATA are mentioned in the MSDN library as being part of shlobj.h and my shlobj.h contains neither of these declarations. Is it the part of Platform SDK?

You do not have to create a service to accomplish this goal.

Print Preview problem

I made a dialog application that draws text into the window using the device context:

CDC* pCD = GetDC();
pCD->TextOut(x, y, "some text I want to print");

I also made an option in which you can change the font. But you choose the print preview it is all messed up. Depending on what font size you choose it shows the letters overlapping each other or too far away from each other in the print preview.

Anyway to fix this?

It seems I need some sort of ratio conversion between logical and physical pixel inside OnPrepareDC. I just can't figure out how to do this. Can anyone help me please?

You can ownerdraw the header control. But before that you must subclass the header control.

First get the header control and subclass it. Use CListCtrl::GetHeaderCtrl() for this purpose.

Create customized HeaderCtrl class Say MyHeaderCtrl then create a member variable of this is in class of Listcontrol ,Then override the InsertColumn(...) there do the following code
