I believe that the OP indicated that he could successfully split his view into two columns. He wants to remove/hide one of those panes when a toolbar button is clicked.

Hi,
I am dovelping a wizard based applcation with 3 pages. At one page CTreeCtrl is there but when I call DeleteAllItems() It does not show any item even if I insert the item code is here:
CTreeCtrl *Tree=(CTreeCtrl *)GetDlgItem(IDC_TREE1);
Tree->DeleteAllItems();
Tree->InsertItem(_T("aa"));
And One CComboBox that does not drop down. what is the reason?

Try calling UpdateWindow() after the InsertItem method.
In ComboBox, after dropping the control from the resource pane into your dialog, you have to resize it vertically to set its dropdown area. Click on the pulldown button of the combobox. You will get a fram with 8 resizing points. Resize the frame vertically and try.

UpdateWindow() is not working and I can can pulldown the Combobox only horizontally not vertically

Good to see you around here on a weekend, Paul. Looks like you're addicted now.

Check your resource ID's (IDC_TREE1 ). GetDlgItem() will return any child control on the dialog with that ID, even if it is not a tree control. The DeleteAllItems() and InsertItem() member functions of the CTreeCtrl class only send messages. If the window they are sending those messages to is not a tree control, it will just ignore them.
This could also explain your CComboBox problem as well.

I have nothing that explains how I can send my program's database data to a known Excel 2007 file. Does anyone know of a tutorial on this; or have any suggestions as to go about it. I tried using the "INSERT" statement but only got one piece of data into the Excel "Sheet", there are 11 colums in the MS Access database and I would like to have those same columns in the Excel workbook. Am I supposed to create a Table with the columns in Excel before trying to transfer the data from Access in my program?

Hello all,
I have some questions about the windows console. If my main GUI windows create a new console windows attach to the main process by calling AllocConsole(). Is there any way to get notify when the console get closed by the user? For example, the close windows button in the top right get clicked by the user. The problem what I have is that if the console windows get closed, then my main process will also be terminated. However, it happen without letting my free my application resource. Any suggestion? Thanks for advance!

I need to write a program to check if an application is playing any sound through the sound card.
Has anyone had any experience with this? What library should I hook?
This is for Windows XP. The program can be built on any platform (.NET, C++).
I've tried hooking kernel32.DeviceIoControl but I don't know which functions to look for to intercept the Wave output (format and buffers). Should I hijack the sound card drivers? Or is there an easier way?
I appreciate any ideas or thought.
Thanks.

Have you included the file where CCompressor_Dialog is declared?
