if you don't want to use a STATIC control then you have to handle the WM_PAINT message and write the text (possibly using TextOut ) in your message handler.

Hi,
I am getting a compilation error while using ConvertStringSecurityDescriptorToSecurityDescriptor ( ). I have included Sddl.h , Have AdvApi32.dll and AdvApi32.lib at correct places. But still getting a compilation error as undeclared identifier.
Thanks....

Hi
How to change back color of a owner drawn list box when it has no item?

Take a look at WM_CTLCOLORLISTBOX message within MSDN ...

Really thanks,
I know that, but you know I want to draw on it, for example wants to fill it gradient.

Hi masters!
-----------
Note the following remarks within MSDN about the above function:
1) WM_KEYDOWN and WM_KEYUP combinations produce a WM_CHAR message.
2) If the message is WM_KEYDOWN, WM_KEYUP, WM_SYSKEYDOWN, or WM_SYSKEYUP, the return
. value is nonzero, regardless of the translation.
But in my EXE, it returns 0 even though the message is WM_KEYDOWN or whatever else.
A background:
-------------
I'm writing a system-wide keyboard hook program, so that all key strokes are sent to
an EXE within a DLL (PostThreadMessage()) ...
But into the EXE, TranslateMessage is returning 0 all time ...

Hello everyone,
I am making some in-depth study of how universal marshaler utilizes typelib for an interface and generate universal (common) marshal code for all the the interfaces which is automation compatible.
My question before the study is why there could be common code universal (common) marshal DLL be suitable for all kinds of auomtation compatible inerface.
My conclusion is, the universal marahler will be able to recognize the data types of parameters/return values of automation compatible types, and will also know how to deal with the serialize/unserialize of them. So, it could have common code.
Is my conclusion and understanding correct?
thanks in advance,
George

Hello everyone,
1.
I read some MSDN document and some other forum discussions about the differences between IDispatch and dispinterface, but still confused. From MSDN, dispinterface is another interface inherits from IDispatch?
2.
And when we declare dispinterface SomeInterce , then it means SomeInterface inherits from dispinterface interface and dispinterface inherits from IDispatch?
thanks in advance,
George

IDispatch & dispinterface are quite different entities: the former is a COM interface, while the latter is a ODL statement.

Thanks CPallini,
Any differences between the 2 definitions of interface?
- Define an interface dispinterface, e.g. dispinterface IFoo;
- Making an interface inherits from IDispatch, e.g. IFoo : IDispatch.

George

Thanks Hamid,
The article you referred is good. But it does not explicitly mention what is the differences between IDispatch and dispinterface. Any comments?
(If I missed any points in the articles, please feel free to point out.)

George
