Is it really possible to download an unsupported product (especially OS) even we've an MSDN subscription? I think even Visual C++ 6.0 is not possible to download. (Sorry I don't have any MSDN subscription)

As David Crow pointed out, MSDN has NOT OP's requested OS and compiler.

You're right about Visual C++ 6.0: it isn't available on MSDN, anyway Visual Basic 6.0 it still available there and, AFAIK, it is an unsopported product too.

If I remember correctly, Visual C++ 1.0 did not run on Windows 3.0, but Windows 3.1. (Windows 3.1 displaced Windows 3.0 almost immediately.) You could still create Windows 3.0 applications with it. The final version of Visual C++ 16-bit was 1.52c and I still have my CD-ROM for it in my closet (I had to support more than one 16-bit app through the 90s.)

Visual C++ 1.52c and Windows 3.1 are [typically] both available on eBay.

Convert LPRECT to Crect

Hi,
when i tried to change LPRECT to CRect as follows..
LPRECT lprect;
CRect crect(lprect);

it throws exception as Access violation..
Please let me know how to convert LPRECT to Crect

LPRECT is a pointer to a RECT structure. In your case, you didn't initialize the pointer, so whe nthe constructor of CRect is trying the content of the pointer, this causes an access violation.

Hope u didnt allocated LPRECT?
LPRECT lpRect = new RECT();
lpRect->left = 100;
lpRect->right = 200;
lpRect->top = 230;
CRect rec(lpRect);

Hi,
May i know how can i get the width of the text inside the button control..

where as using DrawText() function it returns height of the text...

and also i need to drawfocus rect just around the text inside the control...
Please let me know...

Use GetWindowText() to get the button's text, and then call GetTextExtent() (or related function) to get its width and heighth.

IWebBrowser2 problem

Hi all,

I have CWebBrowser wrapper for IWebBrowser2 class. i use it to run flash and static images.

Problem is sometimes my application crashes because of certain flash that is running inside the web browser. (i can not tell which flash causes this).

i have several computers which has visual studio debugger, so after this crash i see the debugger dialog...
someone has suggested the problem is permission...but i am not sure...

is there a way to catch or neutralizer the crash via IWebBrowser2?
