I found a workaround. If you run the app from the code viewer then it works. If you run the app from View designer then you get the message.
I am just going to go with running app in code viewer for the present time.
I also managed to install SP 1 but it made no difference.

I'm having a problem when using a msgbox on a second loaded form. I have two forms ... frmMain (default) and frmSecondary. When the program is run, frmSecondary will eventually be loaded and displayed as the active window (both are maximized, frmMain is still loaded in the background). Now, when a msgbox is used to advise the user of some occurence on frmSecondary, the frmSecondary disappears and frmMain suddenly appears behind the msgbox. Once the msgbox is clicked(i.e.,closed) the frmMain disappears (usually),and again reveal the frmSecondary. I would be grateful if someone could tell me why this is occurring.
Note both the forms are border Style is set to None.

I guess that the MsgBox is a form without a parent, and the MsgBox[^] method of VB6 doesn't have a parameter to set that. Without a parent, focus will be returned to the application, giving it's mainform the focus.
Alternatively, you can call the MessageBoxA method from User32;

Im creating a Webserver using TcpListener and Net.Socket. Everything is working for html files and such but i cant figure out how to execute serverside asp.net code. Is there any .net class that can compile or generate a html file to send to the client or will i have to write my own? I been searching everywhere and cant find nothing.

Questions regarding ListView in VB6:
a) How can I display more than 1 icon in row?
b) how can I display an icon in a specific column? Using the SmallIcon propery always displays the list on the left. I want the icon to be displayed in the 5th column for example.

I wonder if anyone can give me advice on the following?
On my PC I have visual studio 2003 and 2005. They work with no problems i.e. I have systems written in 2003 and systems written in 2005. I am now going to start a new project and this will be written in 2008.
1. Can you see any problems installing Visual Studio 2008 onto my PC i.e. will it clash with 2003 and 2005.
2. Will my previous systems in 2003 and 2005 still work?
3. Do you recommend this should not be done.
Any feedback would be most welcome.

I had all 3 installed on my system at one time and did not face any problems.
BTW - this question would have been answered better if you had asked it in Visual Studio[^] forum.

All three versions will coexist very happily on the same machine. Just be careful opening projects and don't convert projects you want to keep in the older versions of VS.

Visual Studio versions can coexist quite happily, however the last one installed will "steal" the relevant file extensions, e.g. when you double-click a .cs file in Windows Explorer, it will open in the VS version you last installed.

Hi all,
I have the below code I’m using [in VB.NET 2005] to populate three DataGridView’s I
have on my form without much success at the moment as the DataGridView
only displays one column of data once it has run :/
In the example I am just trying to get it working for one DataGridView
with the intention of passing in SQL to define the DataSet’s once its
working.
I am unsure weather I have missed something because I can view all the
data in the visualiser but it only seems to populate the one column in
the DataGridView.

Soooo where are you binding the new dataset to the DataGridView?? I don't see it anywhere.

Have you defined your own columns in the DGV or are you using the automatically generated columns?

Ah, well this is where I might be going a bit wrong then – please forgive my ignorance but I thought [as I could see all the data in the visualiser maybe] that the columns would not need to be defined explicitly, when I look at the data in the DataGridView after the procedure has run the column headings of the table are in there, but as I stated in the original post only one column has data in it

EDIT: I used these two methods
grd.Columns.Clear()
grd.AutoGenerateColumns = True
And it seems to be working ok now.

I have a Windows Form which uses a Timer to automatically close itself if no user interaction occurs within a given time.
The form contains a Label, a Button and a ListView control.
I basically want to run my UserHasClickedForm() sub if the user clicks anywhere in the form before the Timer ticks.
I've used the Click event of each of the controls as shown below.
The code works for each control except the ListView. If I click on the ListView control at run time, the click event does not get raised.
Anyone know why this is, and what I could do to fix the problem?

Did you click on an item in the ListView or a blank area??
Try wiring up the ItemSelectionChanged event as well as the Click event.
