Use a timer and when the specified timer is reached do me.close.

I would like to insert, add, update, and delete record in VB9 using codes and not the datagrid. I have tried this but I am getting an error saying that I must use the InsertCommand. How is that done. I appreciate you assistance in advance.

It sounds like you need some basic background on the subject. You could try searching the Code Project Articles[^]. I found this[^] one there, and it might be sort of what you are looking for. Or even a Google[^] search.
If you have a specific question, give us some more information like what database are you using, and post your current code so we can see what you are trying to do.

This is a pretty odd problem, so I'm listing the steps here precisely as to what I am doing.
Setup: I have a command line window and a windows explorer window open (both windows are expanded to take a decent amount of space.
I have a VB winform app with Form1 set with a yellow background. Through this form, I can use various buttons that launch other forms modally (using .ShowDialog).
1. I compile the app and the main form is displayed maximized.
2. I minimize visual studio.
3. From the taskbar in order, I select Windows explorer, the command window, and then my app.
4. I press a button to open a modal form (any child form); when the child form is initially displayed, there is no problem.
5. When I press a button on the child form to close it, for a very brief time, I can see the windows explorer and command window in the back ground (like the main form is blinking for a second while painting). On a fast system it is hardly noticable. On the other hand, on a slower system, its quite noticable.
Anyone run into this before? It's so frickin hard to figure out what is causing this bleeding of screens.
I created another test app where it's just 1 form calling another (same scenario) and it doesn't occur. No logic other than display and hiding the child form.

Not sure, but it sounds like some type of redraw issue. Might not necessarily be your app, but Windows.

Make sure you are not using the forms "Accept/Cancel" settings to close the form. IE explicitly call me.close() instead of setting the dialogresult. I found this caused a flash sometimes in dotnet 1. I have even been in the position of having to delete and rename a close button to remove the association.

I gave this a go. Reviewed all places that forms are being displayed. All forms as explicitly being closed with form.close. Same thing happens.
I tried taking a screen shot to show the partial bleeding, but it happens so fast I can't get one.

Can you create another form that does not display the same behavior in the same app?
If so then move the controls and code to the new form and destroy the old form.
I know this is not a solution but it may resolve the issue. As I said I have had some weirds around buttons and had to replace and rename them. Never had a whole form weird on me though

Same problem, you can't create (and are obviously not creating) an OS in VB.Net 2008.
All you're doing is piggy backing on the existing OS by calling the Win API.
Perhaps you should reframe what you are trying to achieve?

I did once write a DOS which took many hundreds of hours, written in C. Not as functional as DOS 6.0 was at the time, but it was a neat college project.
A windows operating system on the otherhand takes tens of millions of development hours, usually encompassing thousands of developers.
Thus to do what you propose you'll need to:
(a) Let's optimistically assume it'll take 1m man hours. So working 16/7/365 you should be finished in 2180 ish sort of time frame. You are in good health I hope?
(b) Skilz in C/C++ and assembler. Make sure you know which hardware configuration you're going to target. Which CPU family were you thinking of?
(c) The BIOS is your friend for simple stuff, be prepared to write an awfull lot of assembler when it doesn't do what you need.
(d) Intimate knowledge of hardware, you will need to write all the device drivers you know. You think that mouse you're using just magically works?
(e) Ever written a windowing system yourself? This nice caract I have here flashing as I type doesn't come free you know. You'll even have to code the loop to do that.
(f) This is perhaps the hardest .. understand that writing a Windows application in .Net that calls the Win API is not remotely similar to the monumental and derranged task of writing your own OS, since it's patently and painfully OBVIOUS to all that it's running on an OS and the calling that damn OS' shutdown method ... seeesh.
