hi there, i need your help supporting arabic language in the setup deployment project by visual studio
I want to find arabic support in the setup deployment project i can't name the project using arabic name or even name the shortcut with arabic name.
I tried a trial version of InstallShield but i recognized that it doesn't support arabic language although it supports 33 languages Once i rename the project name in visual studio, i will tell me in the warning tab that an invalid non-ASCII character is used
this software will be deployed for arabic users who don't know anything about english
so i after my windows application is finished (supposed to be the biggest work to do), i can't deploy it to customers.
please i need your comments and help ASAP, or i will lose my work.
Note that i searched through the internet and till now i have no answers.
the warning is:
"Invalid Language characters in property 'Title'"

This is not returning a value because the config file is not set up properly.

When?? Are you saying that you want this to show up when you logon?
All you do is create your app and drop a shortcut to your .EXE in the Startup folder (C:\Documents and Settings\user\StartMenu\Programs\Startup).

I trying to make a gaunt chart, I have added this dll file to the Resources but when I click on it, it is not displayed in the toolbox. I am using Visual Basic Express Edition. ![Cry | :((](https://codeproject.global.ssl.fastly.net/script/Forums/Images/smiley_cry.gif)

Get that .DLL out of your resources, it's useless there.
You have to right-click the Toolbox, then pick Add/Remove Items... Either find your .DLL in the .NET Components or COM Components tab, or you can click browse to locate your .DLL file. If it's of the correct type, you'll get your icon in the Toolbox.

Depends really on how big the db is going to get. My suggestion would be Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL (if you are on a budget). Microsoft SQL Server will scale very nicely.

First Sorry For My Bad English
In easy way (for me ) to assign object variable to become object is using Set statement. Example:
...
Dim oForm As Form1
Set oForm = New Form1
... But In other case I found a hard way (for me again of course ), how can I get object and assign it to variable, in condition that I just only have the Object.hWnd value??
Plez can some one in the light place or in the dark place can help me to get object, if I just only have the Object.hWnd value???
One more things if any one can help me, please send the answer to my Email.
Best regards,

Nope. That's not how this works...
Ask for your question....Your English is pretty terrible, so let me see if I got this right. You trying to create an instance of an object, using nothing but a handle??
Well, the Control class will return a Control object using its shared FromHandle method.
Dim objControl As Control = Control.FromHandle(handle)

But if you have any solution or any one else I will be happy to hear that.

Are you saying that you're looking to create an object from ANY window handle, even if your app didn't create the window?
It doesn't work that way. You can't create an object for a window that the .NET Framework didn't create.
And I made th comment I did because your question is impossible to understand with any certainty. It's also why I'm asking more questions about your questions. We need clarification!

What I mean with "The code isn't work in VB not .NET" is the code that you wrote isn't work in VB6 and the code that I wont is in VB6 not in VB .NET, sorry if it become a little mis-Understanding. Why I want to try it in VB6 so deeply, because in MSDN I saw the code like you wrote, but the defferent is that code in MSDN is wrote in VC6. If I not wrong the code is something like this:
...
oThing = FromHandle(hWnd)
... So I wondering if any way to do that in VB6?

No, there isn't. VB6 cannot create Form wrapper objects around windows that were not created under the VB6 Runtime.

Can anyone help with this. . . I am creating an application using an MDI form. The child form displays fine when I select the menu option. However, I do have two issues.
1) If I select the menu option a second time - a second form is displayed. I want to limit this to only one instance of this particular form.
2) If I close the form and click on the menu option, the next instance of the form does not appear in the same spot. It appears slightly below where the previous form appeared.
Here is a snipet of the code. . .
Private Sub mnuAdminTradeManager_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles mnuAdminTradeManager.Click
'Declare new Trade Manager form
Dim frmTradeManager = New frmTradeManager
'Set the child forms MdiParent property
frmTradeManager.MdiParent = Me
'Show Trade Manger
frmTradeManager.Show()
End Sub
Thank you

![Go to Parent](https://www.codeproject.com/App_Themes/CodeProject/Img/arrow-up24.png) Hi,
Try this (it can be used for all the child form)..
Private Sub mnuAdminTradeManager_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles mnuAdminTradeManager.Click<br />
<br />
Dim frmTradeManager As frmTradeManager<br />
<br />
frmTradeManager = IsOpen("YourFormName")<br />
If frmTradeManager Is Nothing Then<br />
frmTradeManager = New frmTradeManager()<br />
ShowForm(frmTradeManager)<br />
Else<br />
ShowForm(frmTradeManager, True)<br />
End If<br />
<br />
End Sub<br />
<br />
Private Function IsOpen(ByVal formName As String) As Object<br />
Dim intChildCount As Integer<br />
For intChildCount = 0 To Me.MdiChildren.Length - 1<br />
If Me.MdiChildren(intChildCount).Name = formName Or Me.MdiChildren(intChildCount).Text = formName Then<br />
Return Me.MdiChildren(intChildCount)<br />
End If<br />
Next<br />
Return Nothing<br />
End Function<br />
<br />
Private Sub ShowForm(ByRef DisplayForm As Form, Optional ByVal isOpened As Boolean = False)<br />
Try<br />
DisplayForm.MdiParent = Me<br />
DisplayForm.WindowState = FormWindowState.Maximized<br />
If isOpened = False Then<br />
DisplayForm.Show()<br />
Else<br />
ActivateMdiChild(DisplayForm)<br />
End If<br />
<br />
Catch exc As Exception<br />
Throw exc<br />
Finally<br />
End Try<br />
<br />
End Sub
I hope this will help u......
Regards,
Ritesh
